His work rate makes Kane’s look plodding in comparison. Kane is the much more talented and complete striker, but graft goes a long way.Strength. Movement. Aerial ability. He has a lot going for him. People just have to accept he will never be Harry Kane.
Solanke could turn out to be one of our worst ever signings , not because he is that bad
But because he cost£65m and is always picked.
He is a mediocre - no other top 6 or even top 8 club would buy him.
He has been better than I thought he would be - and is in course for around 12 goals and three assists . Which is not good enough for someone who plays all the time - for a top 6 club.
It might even be better if he was very bad - then he would be dropped.
But being just mediocre - means because of the fee -he will play. Which means for the next couple of years we will have an average player as our main front player. It shows a lack of ambition and judgement .
Buy bottom half players - and you become a bottom half team

No chance that 2020s Kane makes the run and holds off Konate like that for the goal in the 86th minute. Kane is obviously a far better player, but Solanke is an absolute workhotse
I’m not sure that’s fair. His work rate makes Kane’s look plodding in comparison. Kane is the much more talented and complete striker, but graft goes a long way.

9 months time? Is he pregnant or something? Can we just skip to the part ( 9 months time ) where he is not treated like the messiah.
He played well last night.
Good assist and took his disallowed goal well.
It doesn't suddenly make him and elite player.
If he plays like that every game I am fine with him starting every game.
If he doesn't ( which he hasn't) I am not.
I think he has played consistently well like he did last night - we are better for having himCan we just skip to the part ( 9 months time ) where he is not treated like the messiah.

On the record as saying I never wanted Toney and did want Solanke. So we're at 100 pages.
Who would still have rather have had Ivan Tonee?
i feel exactly the same about him. hes missing that ruthlessness in the box to be an elite striker, but his all round game and work rate means he always offers his side a positive in winning a game. if we get to the point where he becomes the weak link then we are a serious side!I didn't think he was having his best night for us but his play leading to the goal just summed him up really. I do have a soft spot for a striker with all round game and he certainly has that. Son gets shoved off of that ball leading up to the goal.
