I wish it was only 50Another massive flop of a signing
Says a lot when his former team are doing better without him
50 million spent on this subpar striker… what a joke
We don't play a system that suits him, we've stopped high pressing and we rarely get crosses in. He's feeding on crumbs.
If he was missing sitter after sitter every week I'd agree with the assessment of those who think he is a flop but we can't even get the man any service.
When have any of our strikers (Richie, Son etc) gotten service? If he was missing sitter after sitter every week I'd agree with the assessment of those who think he is a flop but we can't even get the man any service.
As opposed to Harry Kane, yes.The system that suits him is creating tap ins - that system suits a lot of players.
It's obvious he is a very limited player.
This could be said about a lot of strikers, even mediocre ones that don't cost 60 million

Point me to a single pass he received tonight in a goal scoring area. I remember one cross that he was pushed over by Chalobah in the box (foul anywhere else on the pitch but probably not enough for a pen) and that was literally itWhen have any of our strikers (Richie, Son etc) gotten service?
Why does the excuse of "he doesn't get service" only apply to Solanke?
When Richie or Son don't score when playing striker the narrative is "ohhh they don't get in to right positions" or "the don't have #9 instinct" etc

Outside of the first 10-12 games last season we were absolute shit - even when we had all those injuries and were playing like shit both Richie and Son were banging in goals when playing striker
Throughout his career, Solanke has scored 36 goals in 155 appearances in the Premier League which is subpar
NO WHERE near worth 50 million
Only way he was going to get the ball tonight was to do a Kane and drop deep for it, because I can count on two fingers the quality crosses we got into the box, failed to beat the first man on most crosses and corners. Sonnys delivery was shit and Odebert kept cutting inside."He doesn't get into the right positions"
Isn't that the narrative that's used against Richie, Son etc. when they don't score when playing striker?
And see below
There’s a 33 year old up at Forest who’s got 18 goals from 28 gamesThis could be said about a lot of strikers, even mediocre ones that don't cost 60 million
I agree- Solanke is fine. The system is shit. Everyone looks pretty mediocre playing in it, and that's that.Only way he was going to get the ball tonight was to do a Kane and drop deep for it, because I can count on two fingers the quality crosses we got into the box, failed to beat the first man on most crosses and corners. If you are holding a position up top and trying to press and harry the defenders and you don't get the ball I'm not sure what you are supposed to do.
He doesnt have the ability of a Kane to drop deep and create for others, he is a penalty box striker.
Gary Lineker made a career out of that (not that I'm saying Solanke is near that level)
You are spot on.Decent player I think but not worth what we paid. Our recruitment has been nothing short of horrendous for the past 5 or so seasons. Until we improve there we are going nowhere.
Ange probably directed both signings. Solanke would be a fine purchase but we have no ability to create for him right now.He was playing out of his skin last season at Bournemouth, but i don't think he will be able to replicate it. One good season and we paid a fortune for him. That was a risky move.
And 50 mil for BJ. How can the club be so dumb with money?
