Player Dominic Solanke

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Solanke has been let down by the drop in intensity and ineffectiveness of our collective press. He runs himself into the ground for no reason, and gets very little delivery. It is not like he is missing easy chances - we're not creating them. That said Richy has a habit of scoring (when fit) as he is sharper in the box IMO.

Richy = 4 goals, 1 assists in 562 minutes, MPGI = 112 (1st)
Solanke = 11 goals, 8 assists in 2,875 mins, MPGI = 151 (6th)
Sums up our entire squad under this muppet.

All our players are knackered and pushed to breaking point, for what exactly?

All of that effort extended for the sake of losing a record number of games in a season?

Do you remember when you would point this out and the terminally stupid would say "But but but, how can this be other teams press"
You would point out the attrition rates and hamstrings and they'd go. "But but but." And post a picture of a rando EPL player being subbed with an injury. And add..."Oh damn Angeball"

Solanke and Richy are both feeding off scraps thanks to our esteemed manager insisting on sticking to his cunning Plan A instead of adapting tactics to play to their strengths. He may as well stick them both in goal for all the chances they get.

wow! no credit after last night. thought he was really good. worked his socks off, kept his head when the pressure was on for the pen.

hes had fucking awful service all year due to us having shit wingers and his confidence has taking a battering but he hasnt once let his effort levels drop. deserves massive respect for that.

It's a bit of a gulf in quality between Frankfurt and the teams we're below in the league, including West Ham as it stands. Brentford, palace. Everton...
He needs to perform against those teams, otherwise we'll even be behind wolves, who's already sacked one manager.
He's contributed with less than Son this season. And if Son is criticized, at least he's contributing with more than this 65 (?) m player.

You think we should be sitting deep and hoofing it long to Solanke for 45mins of every game?

Or is it possible that he just put in an incredible shift in a very specific game situation?

And let's be real here, we still didn't create anything for him other than the penalty by going long. If we want Solanke scoring it will be because we get a regular front 3 and Maddison playing as close to him as possible.

No, we should be using his height and strength more as opposed to trying to play out from the back all the time which puts more pressure on us.

We also don't cross the ball for him...guess who scored the most amount of headed goals last season, go figure.

Romero and Porro have that ability to play a more direct ball now and then but Frankfurt CBs and PL CBs are a very different deal. You play long in the PL as often as we did vs Frankfurt and you just invite more pressure on. Different games, different tactics.

Agree on crosses tho. Porro. Kulusevksi, Tel all capable of a decent cross to Dom's head.

Some of the posters on here thought he had a bad

He did not have a good game. Pen aside

It's not true we don't create chances for him.
He has missed quite a few good chances and half chances.
Even when we have scored 4 or 5 he does not score or assist.

He is a major part of the reason we have done badly this season - it's not the other way round.
For £65m we should have got a lot more of a dynamic player.

You don't need to play long as often as we did on Thursday though, there are times that we can choose to go longer to relieve pressure as opposed to constantly playing out.

Pairing him with 2 'wingers' who don't beat their man and barely put in good crosses in a system where the full backs barely overlap and don't cross to him and where he barely has players around him to link up with and apparently he's a major reason why we are struggling lol ok.

Put Haaland in this setup and you'll see him struggle as well.
