Player Dominic Solanke

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The stat was 'his last 24 starts' not appearances.

He only started like 3 or 4 league games last season (only played 500 mins total), so the stat extends back to his scoring run the season prior where he banged 9 in 8 starts then promptly got injured.

If you actually break down Rich's minutes-per-goal ratio for us in the prem it's absolutely elite tbh. His strike-rate is better than 1 every 2 games. Surely must be one of the top 3 or 4 strikers in the league on that basis.

Feels mad given how rubbish and frustrating he can be but turns out we actually have one of the most effective scorers in the entire league...

EDIT: Dug a bit deeper, and his PL stats over the past 3 seasons (basically the 3 seasons he's actually been used as a striker) are actually nuts. 22 goals in 2880 minutes. That's legit Kane-levels of goalscoring. Haaland and Isak are better over that period but beyond that I think it's only Igor Thiago who has a much smaller sample size and 50% of his goals are pens.
Thank you for being a sensible poster.

Tottenham Hotspur player fitness programme in a nutshell

The scary thing is Solanke coming back won't even improve us. Despite us being absolutely hopeless in attack under Frank, Muani and Richarlison have actually been two of our better players the past 2 months. Solanke coming back and starting over one of them really won't change much.

I get the frustrations around his injury but I don't think he's that big a loss at all. Richarlison is scoring nearly every game and Muani's performances have been very good. Solanke will be third choice when he comes back and it could take him a few weeks or months to force himself into the team.

Yea, I mean, you really don't get much about football, do you :D ?

IF (and this is very massive IF) Solanke would return and be in peak form. Then he would be used as target-man. So someone who is mainly expected to take down the long balls and retain possession upfront.

Neither Richie nor Kolo Muani are not good AT THAT even though they might be (and I'd even say Richie quite clearly is) more clinical scorer.

So when all 3 are available, we either start with Solanke + either of the other 2 or potentially with front 3 with all of them (more unlikely but interesting as thought experiment).

It is not a magic bullet that sorts out everything at once, obviously not! But it would still be useful .

I think we miss Solanke massively , especially the route one football we play , his hold up play is very good , his pressing is excellent and him with kudus ( when he can bothered ) and kolo muani on the left would be a decent forward line . Not saying it makes us a top 6 team but it improves the first 11 and wouid suit the way we play more .

You make a sound point but did it need the first bit of wanker? Merry Christmas.
