Player Dominic Solanke

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

One of these days the muppets who think 10-15 goals a season for a striker ain't no good will realise how stupid they are.
Dom and Richarlison are not Harry Kane or Son class.
Only Harry Kane is Harry Kane class. Only Son is Son class.

Now that's a blast from the past. IIRC, that didn't go through because we couldn't agree terms with WBA and it was considered a huge disappointment that we didn't land him, but he didn't amount to much after that.
Looking out to in as such Never really got over being told his 'dream' move was off/ over... As you said he bounced around and never seemed to kick on again
Bac to Dom... 2 appearances 2 goals, more than decent..but with these long term injured players THERES ALWAYS a readjustment period. Whether its straight away or a few games in , Dom was a million miles off it in his comeback , let's hope that's his ' off period' cos if there's ever been a time when we need a striker it's now..With the amount of ball/play were getting around the opponents box, goals are there to be had... And we just haven't been able to take advantage. Finger XD Dom can reap the rewards of some really decent build up play.

Really happy for his goal. And happy to have him back.

Some fans here are absolute and total scum with absolutely zero understanding of football.

To shit on Solanke who now has had 26 goal contributions over ~3600 minutes played. So that means he either has scored or provided an assist for every 140 minutes on field. On top of that he presses well AND helps to keep the ball upfield.

And there are some overweight balding cnuts who shit on him? Sad. Just sad for you.

I am not saying that he is some super-excellent striker or anything like that. Of course there are better strikers around. And it is possible to upgrade him
. But whenever he has played he has contributed quite well.
Lol completely mental! 😆

Regardless of his questionable finishing and comparisons to elite strikers, what's immediately evident is that he's way more suited to this style of play than either RKM or Rich.

When balls get lumped to him he's actually able to physically hold off opposition players, win headers and control the ball. When the ball gets lumped to Rich he usually just flops on the floor and we lose possession, while it's not RKM's natural game, either.

He's also got a much more reliable touch and link-up play. With Rich it's a complete lottery - he has the odd game where he links up fairly well but most of the time he's misplacing passes or miscontrolling the ball.

The one thing you lose with Solanke compared to the other two (Rich especially) is that capability to score a goal out of nothing. Wouldn't be surprised if Solanke never scores a bicycle kick in the rest of his career, whereas Rich will ocasionally score an absolutele worldie when you least expect it.

Personally I think Solanke's better for the team, but Rich is a useful wildcard option off the bench until the summer. Think we should aim to sell Rich and then buy a first choice striker who we then rotate with Solanke moving forward.

And fire RKM into the sun.

Seems we all underrated what a miss he was. He’s been very good since coming back from injury.

He looks perfect for Frank’s terrorist ball tactics too.

We will get more results with him in the side. Great improvised finish on the second. He's an all round good centre forward. He's not Kane but he is a good striker.

I don’t think he will ever be a killer in front of goal, but his hold up ability, pressing and link up play have always strong for us. Starved of service most of last season, so i would like to see how many goals he gets when we create chances for him. 4 in 4 games is a great start.

If we stick with 442 then Tel just playing off Dom could be very interesting. Or 4411 with Xavi behind... holds the ball well, and does actually look up and have awareness of where he and other players are

He was already a great all round player but it's great to see him scoring more now.

Hopefully the injury isn't serious, we need him. I'd like to see him with another striker more often.
