Exactly what I was thinking. Give the cash to the family. It would be a great gesture from teams, but won’t happen.
I'm sure they are hardly struggling....... that poor dog is hardly looking out onto a council estate.

Set something up in the guys name in nantas and cardiff......... Yes its not my money either.

Cardiff have to pay up but colour me entirely unsurprised if they try their hardest to get out of it, what with them being a horrible football club run by a total shyster. Bordeaux are entitled to 50% of the transfer fee so it's not like Nantes are just being cunts for the sake of it. What happened is obviously a terrible tragedy but that doesn't mean Cardiff can just expect everyone to conveniently forget about the £15million.

You’d think so, but these are the same group of people collectively that put him in an allegedly rickety plane.
Cardiff didn't do that. IIRC, Cardiff arranged a commercial seat. The agent said no "15m players don't fly commercial", and arranged his private pilot to fly Sala. That pilot then backed out and arranged for Dave Ibbotson, a much less experienced pilot without an instrument rating. This boils down to the pilots.

Good shouts. Even more than the clubs, with some of the stories having emerged, the agents who took their dirty money off the deal, should donate that part back to the family or charity. If they want to improve their own or agents' rep in the public eye just a wee bit. Especially McKay, given his involvement with the flight.

Snowball's chance in hell though :pochsulk:

IIRC from what I've read, it was more, that Sala felt, he didn't have sufficient time to tie up loose ends, and to his credit say his goodbyes to people in Nantes who meant a lot to him. With a tight timeframe and commercial planes from Nantes to Cardiff not exactly being straightforward. So the McKay's "helped" out.

Cardiff has to at least pay the base installment of the fee. That part is signed off on and the paperwork is legal. But they should not have to pay any of the future installment that are based on things like appearances, goals, Cardiff staying up etc.

Also Cardiff should be getting roughly 16 million in insurance money since he was officially a Cardiff player
