So much talent and drive up for selection, with many in good form (MGW, Branthwaite, Gittens) and not even a look in.

He's frustrating, but is always a threat. He should have moved from United after his 30 goal season for his own sake. But on his day he's close to unplayable. His problem is he hasn't had anthing like enough of those days for a while.

Appears to me that Tuchel wants players who retain the ball. That would explain Solanke ahead of Watkins for example.

We have loads of injuries and he's gone for a safety, experience first approach. The likes of Gittens and Nwaneri haven't yet proven themselves in the under 21's. Branthwaite is unlucky, but is probably casualty of playing for an unfashionable club. Only real baffling one for me is Henderson.

I'm kinda glad Solanke has got the recognition, but dreading him actually PLAYING for fear of coming back injured...

Likewise, I'm relieved Djed isn't getting called up, but it's still a shame he hasn't been recognised for his amazing year so far...

Fuck it, let Lewis-Skelly get himself injured instead ... 'cos I doubt he'll pull out of the squad Saka style the week before???

Doubt he will play if Harry is available. He'll be desperate to add a few goals to his record in the next couple of games.

I don't think Gallagher has been starting many games lately. I think if Tuchel knew he was going to be the best player on the pitch a couple of nights ago against Real Madrid until he tired, he might have selected him!

I thought we had also seen the last of Kyle Walker, who cost us in the final against Spain. Suppose if Trent was available he wouldn't have been selected.

Quensah over Branthwaite I don't get. Branthwaite is the future but is also good enough to start now. I don't mind Dan Burn over Maguire.

U21 euros this summer. France and England have both prioritised edge players for U21 where they’re eligible.

Branthwaite, Gittens, Wharton.

Cherki and Akliouche.

If these players are in contention for WC then it’s better they get tournament experience (hopefully winning) rather than playing relatively meaningless games with the seniors.

September squads will be more telling.
