The french government are supporting the democratically elected leader and withdraw military support once the military coup started.

France are AGAINST the military coup.

I don’t know why I’m discussing this with someone who doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

The internet is dumb as shit.

Do some research of the CFA Franc then see where that takes you and come back to me.

How many of the most recent heads of the IMF have been French?

You can say that France were against the coup but the coup is undoubtedly operating in France's best interests. The democratically elected leader of Niger wasn't acting France's best interests. he wanted off the CFA Franc, publically.

Who is funding the Coup?

If the reports are true that Levy wants to stay on as a chairman under any new owners, he has about 2 weeks to save his claim because right now anyone putting their money into this club would likely see him as a deal breaker.
Any new owners would want to start on a positive footing with the fan base.
Keeping Levy around would achieve the exact opposite...

Having said that, New 'Arab' owners with Levy kept as chairman would present quite a conundrum for the moral hypocrites on here

I did all the things you are currently doing, regarding avoidance of spending in the ground or on merch, after the cup games were removed from season tickets, associate membership for ST holders was cancelled and the 'loyalty scheme' was introduced by ENIC.

This was from about 2002 until I packed up altogether in 2008.

I was frustrated and felt isolated at the time with my views regarding ENIC.

I felt very strongly that the takeover from Sugar was orchestrated and that ENIC were just more of the same.

I actually fell out with several people I attended matches with because of it.

When Levy and ENIC recruited Redknapp and finally achieved Champions League qualification I had to concede that although I detested the methods; they had delivered the desired outcome.

We wobbled under AVB for a brief period but then Poch took things forward again.

I had replaced Spurs with watching my local non league club and travelling everywhere watching them while watching Spurs on TV.

I had vowed to never return to WHL until ENIC had gone.

I have only attended a handful of away matches since May 2008 and I visited the new stadium for the Inter friendly because the ticket was bought for me as a gift by my daughter and I was curious to see what had been achieved.

Levy has improved Spurs as a club regarding the infrastructure, the worldwide promotion of THFC and the average league finish.

His continuing presence is now doing Spurs harm in my honest opinion.

He is a fool if he believes he can continue with his two bob methods in a world class facility without it all going tits up on a scale he clearly cannot comprehend.
I too knew ENIC were bad news from very early on. My main reasons were the absolutely shoddy way they treated Graham and the way they oversaw the Campbell shit show. I know GG divided people, but he never gave less than 100% to Spurs, even when he was really unwell he tried to give as much as he could. The grounds they used to lie and enable his sacking were pathetic.

Early days it was Spooky’s Dr Mr Levy Blog that kept me from fury. He really articulated how many of us felt in those early ENIC dark days.

Some of the pathetic decisions they made sicken me to this day. Including what they did with Jamie Redknapp ( tosser ) and Darren Anderton ( Proper Spurs )

That these bastards have been a growth on our club for twenty plus years is not something I take pride in. “Success” ( don’t chuckle) has come despite of them, not because of them.

As I have said many times, I know a lot of people who have done business with Levy and his wider cohorts. They won’t all be wrong, and none of them have a good word to say about how they conduct themselves.

The point about supporting another “lower level” team is where I can’t save myself. I am first and foremost a Tottenham Hotspur fan, not a football fan. That follows later.

And there is the problem for me. I am probably romantically linked to something that does not exist anymore. For me, ironically the best thing would be for Spurs to be closed up for good, that way I might get closure. Odd thing to write I know.

Levy? ENIC? Hello?!

My journey to non league was quite strange tbh.

I live 100 miles away from WHL in Leamington Spa.

I have supported Spurs since 1977 when we were in the 2nd division. I saw the 9-0 drubbing of Bristol Rovers on MOTD, when I was 7 years old. The first game I ever attended was Coventry City away in 1981 at Highfield Road. I also saw Spurs play away at Birmingham City, Wolves, West Brom, Villa and Leicester during the early 80's.

The first Spurs home game I attended was in 1983. A 1-1 draw at home to Sunderland. I was 13 and caught the train to London.

I also used to regularly watch A.P. Leamington around this time but they folded in 1988, having been founder members of what is now the Conference. The old ground they played at actually had the original floodlights from Man City's Maine Road dismantled and re-installed at The Windmill Ground when City upgraded their lights in the 70's.

I was 18 when A.P. Leamington folded and the ground was sold off for housing. I then began regularly attending Spurs matches at WHL for the next 20 years. 12 of those years as a Paxton Road season ticket holder. Block 19, row 2 just behind the photographers.

When I packed up Spurs in 08 Leamington had re-formed and were on a journey back through the non league pyramid.

I spent 07 / 08 attending home games at WHL and watching Leamington at home or away on the weeks when Spurs were not playing. This began after Jol's sacking.

It made my decision to pack up my Spurs season ticket much easier.

The trouble is; I love Spurs.

It's tattooed on my leg and burned into my heart.

Thankfully it's this one rather than the ENIC FC brand.

Mate, Steve is no racist.
Nonsense take...you have no idea who is and who isn't. And unless ANYONE has done the work to challenge their biases they are more than likely the holder of questionable views. And I would hold out judgement on ANYONE of his age and (presumed) cultural upbringing...not to mention those he associates with who are not the most tolerant of bunch.

Like in Rural America when coal mining states flipped from blue to red out of desperation to keep their jobs, they all got labelled for switching, it rarely is ever as black and white as people think.

Very interesting video on it actually if anyone is interested, shameless plug of this guys Youtube channel because all of his videos are really interesting.
yeah, have you ever been? This simplification doesn't do the convo/reality any justice. There is more than enough racism in Appalachia...of course, that doesn't mean that everyone is raging racist...but if I were looking for one it would be target rich environment.

The debate about M.E. ownership drips with 'othering'...and we'd see it here if ENIC were to sell to Qatar or someone else.
