The chump (levy) only gave out designer watches with losing finalist written on them after the 2019 CL final (i mean he doesnt have a clue does he?!?)...then mic'd all the players up like the rat he is for 10 million from amazon!! Seriously disrupting the privacy of the dressing room which is needed to play well
Oh wow, hadn't seen the 5857575 other posts about that today, cheers! o_O

Fascinating insight from Hugo in his new book:

We do all have one engraved memory, though. Four days before the final, Daniel Levy called us all together to announce that, with the support of a sponsor, we would each receive a luxury aviator watch from the club. At first, we were excited to see the elegant boxes. Then we opened them and discovered that he’d had the back of each timepiece engraved with the player’s name and ‘Champions League Finalist 2019’. ‘Finalist.’ Who does such a thing at a moment like this? I still haven’t got over it, and I’m not alone. If we’d won, he wouldn’t have asked for the watches back to have ‘Winner’ engraved instead.

I have considerable respect and esteem for the man and all he has done for the club as chairman – I got to know him – but there are things he is simply not sensitive to. As magnificent as the watch is, I have never worn it. I would have preferred there to be nothing on it. With an engraving like that, Levy couldn’t have been surprised if we had been 1–0 down after a couple of minutes: so it was written.
Levy ruined

Regarding Levy and the watch thing it seems pretty obvious to me that Levy was set up to do that. And what I mean by that is that the idea was sold to him. Only a very naive person that is controlled by someone else would do something like that. To me it suggests that someone higher-up than Levy is using him like that and for those purposes. And that somebody else is probably pursuing this same narrative right now. In my opinion.

Some higher ups, or some spies within the organization. Somebody who works within the organization but actively works on sabotaging it. Stuff like that happens all the time.

Who has access to Levy, and who had access to Levy around that time, are good questions.
Lets suppose (1) you have this sort of a problem in some organization. Lets further suppose (2) you have an owner that wants what is best for the organization. And lets finally also suppose (3) that such an (see 2) owner tried to do something about it.

So he or she talks to everyone who was involved. Every single person that knew about those watches. And he hears many things. There's a lot blame-avoidance. A smart owner in such a situation would

FIRE EVERYONE (especially . MIND YOU !!!! . the . person . appearing . the . very . least . likely . at . fault)

who knew and/or was in contact with has happened and would bring his own, new person to run the organization. A person that such an owner knows does not have and has never had such problems in their business workings. Never ever. And then such a person would bring his own other such persons he or she knows are professional and reliable.

That is what happens in good organizations and that is how good owners act. They divorce their own selves as well the organizations they own from everyone that was involved in such a thing. They don't engage in any sort of investigative work trying to ascertain faults and blames. Such owners know very, very well that all of such ascertaining is bullshit and just serves to undermine the organization. Which, in this case, is the Tottehnam Hotspur Football Club.

Such an owner would know all of what I have written prior in this thread in advance but would not act quickly and suddenly. Instead such an owner would act gradually in his ways of going about firing everyone. And the very hardest and most difficult thing such an owner would face would be WHO TO BRING IN as the replacement. That would, in fact, be the very, veeeery most difficult thing to know for a place such as the Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. And in the meantime, prior to knowing, deciding upon and ascertaining thaaaat, such an owner would . do . e x a c t l y . nothing. Except, of course, start paying greater attention to things.

Such an owner would NEVER RUSH. Instead, he would ALWAYS place the very highest value on OBSERVATION and ASCERTAINMENT OF INFORMATION.

Speaking to one's self is the first sign of madness..... or AI'ness.

Can't figure it out.

Here's another quote from Lloris in same book, taken from another forum...

"I have a lot of respect for Daniel. I think he has done amazing work for the club. When I look at the position of Spurs when I arrived, [in 2012] and when I left [this January], it’s a different club."

"Daniel always tried to make the right decision for the club and we were also a bit unlucky. At our best with Mauricio, we had to compete with the Chelsea of Abramovich, the Emirates Marketing Project of Guardiola, the Liverpool of Jürgen Klopp. It was really tough because if the club was ready to invest £50m, the others will invest £100m."

"I really like what I see and I believe that they are going in the right direction. They have a proper football style, a mentality, and I think [Postecoglou] brought exactly what the club needed at this moment – freshness and a new fan expectation. That’s probably why I felt really heavy when we were with José or Antonio. It was a different football style."

‘Better keep that option of an Ambassadorial role open, I know I’ll stick something generic and nice in so I keep my privileges!’

We get it Hugo mate, we know the bits you really mean 😉.

I read the article, and I'm not thrilled about it.

I'm not sure you read the article, because you've gotten some key details completely wrong.
