I don't think they believe it's "inconceivable" that people do not like them, these aren't stupid people, after all.
They very simply do not care. And the not caring isn't even a conscious decision. People who are worth 8-plus figures literally don't spend an ounce of energy or second of time considering what plebs think.
Marie Antoinette's "Let them eat cake" was the original meme, but it captured the essence of the difference between the ruling class and the working class. They're aware we exist - that just about sums it up.
None of the rest matters to them. They're sure that they are in the positions they're in through some value or effort of their own, and thus us not being in a similar position is because we're lazy or stupid or both.
Bringing it full circle to Levy - he literally just doesn't give a fuck. I don't know why people continue to grasp at straws as if we could just make him understand he's upset us and he'll change. He. Doesn't. Care. He's a capitalist, he cares about money. You. Me. Everyone else. Don't matter. He's not involved in football for popularity.

But bar the brief period with Franco Baldini (and how much control he ever exercised I'm not sure), the responsibility for negotiating fees with other clubs, and thereby which players we would buy and when, was essentially entirely in Levy's hands from Redknapp's arrival to Paratici's. (Quite significantly before too, but it was really just him in that period)
He was a pretty shrewd operator once upon a time, but just got worse and worse and worse as his tactics became more obvious and more public and more easy to counter.
I don't want to totally absolve him as having learned his lesson, on Porro and other deals Levy Mode has reared its ugly head, but generally speaking the operation is being better run now.
He's certainly still a toxic force over everything, but it's different now. You had to be there, I guess.
I think Levy's issue is he (we) moved up in weight class. He was very good at a time signing young/cheap players to develop and sell on for a profit (or keep, as we did with Eriksen, Hugo, Jan, etc.).
Under Poch we reached a level where this level of player wasn't who we needed to sign to progress. Arguably, we reached a level of football at its most difficult - progressing from 4th-6th to winning the PL in this era is possibly the most difficult thing to do in football. Liverpool needed a near perfect run of recruitment success extending multiple years to do it.
Regardless, we reached a level where what Levy had previously done very successfully for years no longer applied to what we needed to do moving forward. And he's very much struggled in this new phase/level. We spend on the wrong players, miss out on the right players, and maintain a state of chaos that makes fixing either of the previous difficult.

However I have said previously he should keep his beak out of transfers . My last post was because I am fed up with hearing how , Levy got it over the line , Levy saved the day .
So I suggested he try doing it when he was facing some competition, seems like he did and got his ass kicked .
For the sake of clarity I think he should keep his nose out of it. I am fed up with the Levy saves the day by signing someone that clearly Lange or Munn should have been able to do . If they can’t do it then he is a clown who has hired fools who can’t land a cheap young goalie

He should of hired a DOF who can deliver , he has had plenty of practice

If he is , I repeat is going to do it surely it should be on the Tel type deals. But if his hires were better he really would not need to , he could focus on our real estate empire

The thing that is most striking when you look at Spurs' transfer history is from the ENIC purchase through around the mid 2010's we did a TON of business. In and out just a very high deal volume, lots of opportunities.
Over a period of a few years that became an excruciating trickle, eventually of course a completely unprecedented nothing.
Weight class, sure, Levy's bluster being found out, the market just changing in price, a weird and not always productive relationship with Poch, there were a lot of factors. But it absolutely killed us.
What's being built now is what any club of any size and ambition must have in this era. It also needs organizational commitment to winning, and there's the rub, but alas we prattle on.

I constantly hear, 'Im with Levy. He has grown the Club'. Does donating your hard earned money to Levy's wealth really give you a sense of Belonging? You must have really had a bad childhood.
My stance is that Levy is a little less without me. This applies to each and every Spurs Fan. He is nothing without us. He may carry the title to That stadium, but if it's empty, it means nothing. Those hotels and entertainment centers are nothing without each and every Spurs Fan. Without the Football there is no attraction.

.I think it would me more effective to turn it into a ghost town. Insults will not hurt him. Realising he’s fucked up a proper golden goose will. He needs to realise we are a football club and the fans are the lifeblood, and that we want to win things and compete. And as the custodian of the club (his words) it is his fkin responsibility to at least try and compete for trophies. He could easily sanction putting 3 x £250k per week, experienced players (28-30 years old) in our spine, and elevate us a level. We’d still have the healthiest revenue to wages ratio. And we could be a consistently good team. But he won’t.
We really need a 3rd party ownership transfer saga. One the gullible can get behind , even though everyone with a bit of knowledge of our history knew it was a non starter . The defence force can say we tried but Kia Sportage , Kia Sorrento or whatever his name is shafted us at the last minute.

I’ve only seen people who praise levy ( not on here ) who are entrepreneurs & finance people who see what he’s doing as a success. The ones on here who are less negative towards him are seeing as what they’re saying as “common sense “ but football is all about passion and emotion . Levy has fucked up way too many times regarding football & it’s clear he still gets involved. His time is well and truly up regarding football . It’s become embarrassing
If you wanted Tel or not doesn’t really matter but what stands out to me is that preparation & research is hugely lacking , panic is where we are at & it’s not good enough.
