Is it not still early days in the revenue created by the new stadium. ? Its going to be gradual but should improve our ability to sign better players compared to the old stadium.
We reached a couple of finals recently most notably the CL final but Kane was not fit and Sissoko was perhaps unfairly penalised with a penalty within 2 minutes. Neither of those factors are on Enic. We were up against Liverpool.
It was a remarkable achievement to reach the final.

When we give a press conference from our training ground does it not fill you with pride . Imagine how depressing it would be seeing our managers looking let down and frustrated in less palatial surroundings.

I for one feel great pride when our coach says “ I don’t know why we bought him , he was a club pick”. However he says it in an environment that more successful clubs fans sit there thinking “ I’d swap all our trophies for seats like that in our training ground media room”

It’s pretty clear you need to scout and sign the best young talent. Having training pitches like a snooker table clearly makes very little difference if the youth set up is not attracting the best kids.

Hoddle , Campbell🤮, Ledley and Kane only top class acadamy players in the 50 odd years I have been a fan

Cearly not all off that time was ENIC but the new facility was meant to change everything

No, no, no, no.

It was Levy that picked an unfit Kane over an in form Moura.
And it was Levy that gave an unbelievably stupid penalty away by standing with his arm out for 2 minutes.

Didn't you know that it's all Levy's fault ?

It was Levy's fault that we were going into a champions league final with Winks and Sissoko the best we could offer in midfield

Bingo.

That game was one between a team who had lots of deficiencies but had managed to claw their way to a final, and a team who had been well constructed over the past few years under Liverpool's new owners, with the signings under them (Alisson, VVD, Fabinho, Salah, Mane etc) all being critical on the night.

We had one legitimately world class, top player & Poch tried to force him in as he knew what Lucas did was a one off and wouldn't be repeated vs a team who weren't naive like Ajax.

Heard an interview some time back with Garry Cook, the ex Man City guy, who was there when Abu Dhabi took over. He said that the absolute number one priority for the club was to build their top end training facility, as this is the thing that attracts players over all else. He said it wasn’t the money (what’s an extra £20k per week when you are on £200k per week?), but the environment you spent most of your time in - the training ground.

I’m with him on that, so I for one am delighted we can offer such a facility. I’m pretty sure it has helped attract players to sign for us and will continue to do so. Probably saving us a few quid on salaries too.

Fair play to you.
There's many on here who can't bring themselves to say that.

You'd also be an arse to deny that they got some things wrong.
Although they're are some of those on here too.
I can admit they’ve done plenty of good things, that’s what makes their repeated failures so frustrating. They should know better and should be more adaptable

I firmly believe that Levy trusted his team to do their jobs.

Hitchen should have been booted out of the club years ago.

Poch didn't want a DoF, but Levy backed his decision.
Our transfers (which weren't great to start with) went to absolute shit.

I suspect the same happened with Jose.
£150m (or thereabouts) wasted on shite.

Now Levy has appointed a DoF our recruitment appears to be better.
Time will tell.

Financially Levy seems to be sound although I'm not sure how much credit should be apportioned to him for that. I don't know what advice or guidance he has received

On football matters Levy has been naive and deserves criticism IMO. Manager appointments and transfer dealings particularly.

But I don't believe in buying trophies. The power of money sweeping aside the opposition is grotesque to me.

Supposedly Levy has taken a step back from football matters, I hope so.

It’s not just first team recruitment that’s the issue. It’s his ultimate failure as a business leader to set a strategy and execute. He’s a poor leader, a one dimensional finance director
