What is it with Simon Jordan and Levy?

Bloke cannot stop shilling for the nerd.

He is a former owner who didn’t do to well. To be fair to Levy he has done better than Mr Jordan and if Simon Jordon has a go at him he might get accused of hypocrisy. Jordan is also old school, if the football is bad it’s entirely on the manager and players, he has a very 1990’s view of the world.

levy has build a brilliant business so he is fantastic, the players/managers are separate and they are entirely responsible for the football, the idea of club culture, sporting directors, football philosophy isn’t in his lexicon.

That's a good way to put it. And it has the uncomfortable quality where people like Jordan and Levy think of themselves as progressive and modern (they once were!) but as the football industry rapidly changes they are increasingly calcifying into dinosaurs.

Modern football if you look at Brighton, City, Liverpool and sadly Woolwich is all about identity.

You have a manager and a DoF with a style of play that the whole club is built around. All the scouting and requirement fits this, if the manager leaves like Potter then a copy like replacement in De Zerbi is brought in. This requires a club built from top to bottom including the baord.

We are more tacticians. This players cheap, get him, this deal is good go for it. Football has moved away from true pragmatic football like Redknapp who can work with any set of players and change styles and tactics based on his players and opposition ( I use Pragmatist in its real sense not the current usage which means defensive manager).

Levy behaves like a tactican, Jordan talks like a tactican. This is the old outdated way of building a team, this club needs a strategy and a clear identity of football. Without that we are fucked. I do find it odd that otherwise intelligent men like Levy and Jordan struggle badly with this concept. Particularly Levy who off the field is an elite strategist. It’s a bit like Jose who gets called a dinosaur, they are also dinosaur’s in this vein.

All tactics and no strategy, that is precisely correct, well said.

And yet he'll disregard or piss over all the countless negative comments regarding Levy from numerous former players and managers and scouts who played and worked under his chairmanship.

He's the biggest hypocrite on The Fighting Cock

My mate’s nan had a friend at bingo who told her that Levy helped her cross the road once.

An Honourable Man.

Then he should stop buying players HE thinks will do well and back the damn manager.

honestly if he gave JN what he wanted he would be here by now, the stumbling block is always the say on transfers. JN says he wants the say on them, for the past 5 yrs levy thinks we have a squad to compete its the same story now, half of these players need shipping out, he wont do it.
Is the highlighted also the reason that Chelsea don't have a manager yet ?

I'm interested in hearing JN 's words on having a say on transfers.

Especially as that agent fella confirmed that Poch had the final say and that Levy only got involved in the very end stages.

I'm not disregarding your opinion, simply asking for a link that confirms what your saying.🤷
