Klopp lost the:

2016 carabao
2016 Europa
2018 CL

before he got HEAVY backing and then won every trophy available.

That’s the difference between Klopp and Poch.
FSG aren't perfect, but the decisiveness with which they made the decision that they were all-in for Klopp, and the way that they look at their squad as players on a football pitch rather than assets in a spreadsheet is always something I'm very jealous of.

Lots of Levy-type business attitude there, really, but at the end of the day it's a football club that understands its a football club.

You've got your years screwed up. Leicester was 15/16, Poch's second year, where we collapsed at the death and came 3rd, only 70 points in the end, but our first CL qualification since Redknapp.

Then 16/17 was the last year at WHL, undefeated at home, 86 points and came 2nd to Conte's Chelsea.

Poch was one of the hottest commodities in world football at that moment, rightly so.

That was also the moment at which the stadium project kicked into its maximum gear. It was an inconvenient moment for major squad investment/overhaul.

But, that was the moment.

Then and now, the manager wasn't the issue.
I did get the years mixed up, but it would have worked the same; again for everyone in the fucking back who don't have their specs on and are not capable of comprehension: IN THE CONTEXT OF THE IDEA THAT THE SQUAD REQUIRED AN EXPERIENCED TROPHY WINNING MANAGER.

The entire point of the post was an agreement to an earlier post I don't even remember anymore stating that hiring Mourinho was pointless because the premise, that all the squad needed was an experienced trophy winning manager to get over the hump, wasn't true, and if it ever were true it hadn't been true for at least 2 years.

If you dudes can't engage your fucking brains today, I'm going to go back to work.

ENIC = English National Investment Company

About as well run as the English parliament right now.

The premier league clearly doesn't give a fuck about the club being English owned.

Why would fans care if the club is owned by an English company if that just = a buy cheap, buy twice attitude to investing in the squad and chaotic management of the club.

Basically UK owners just mean boredom and soul-destroying, chaotic mismanagement. Why is that better because it's British?
Ideally imho It would be better if all the clubs were majority owned by people from the Country.
Germany I think has that model?

Obviously the ship has long sailed.

Personally Im not a supporter of the corrupt state ownership model .

Those with a win at all costs attitude will feel different.

It's because they had a very competent DOF running the football side. Their Levy-type business group focuses on making the money the DOF wants to spend. Their net spend has been less than ours for better results.

The problem has always been that Levy wouldn't delegate football operations. He does everything else very well, but he sucks at the football side.

But like....the "winning manager hypothesis" only arose AFTER the Poch situation had gone tits up. It was in direct response to things going sour with Poch.

No club on earth would have sacked Poch after either of 15/16 or 16/17, as a matter of fact he was highly sought after by just about everybody.

We heard you. Your point doesn't make sense.

Some of you really struggle with reading comprehension, it makes life difficult.

The hypothesis from club leadership was that the squad needed a "proven winner" manager to get over the hump. In context of that hypothesis, and that hypothesis only, the time to sack Poch and bring in Mourinho was in the summer of 2017 when the squad was at its peak. By waiting until the squad and Poch showed serious slippage, it rendered the move to Mourinho as pointless as the squad was no longer good enough to compete regardless of who was manager.

I see, fairs.

I was really hoping you were.

Sorry I wasn't clear: your opinion is of no consequence.
