Is this just a wind up ?

highly doubt it's ITK, more of an educated guess.

The NFL has been mulling over a permanent London Franchise team since the late 1990s. From a business sense it's a non brainer for Levy to want that team based at Spurs rather than Wembley If/When it happens. He didnt add all that shite to the stadium just for a couple of games per year

Ultimately it will Probably doubles the value of the brand for Enic when it comes time to sell

I agree the NFL franchise is their end game .
The football side is being used to fund the facilities such as huge extra cost to stadium build . It would be madness as you say for 2 games a year .

If it did turn out to be genuine, would you embrace it? Or would you consider it a step too far?
Especially considering the way our football team has floundered in recent years?

I don't waste my time with things that could potentially happen, why would you waste your energy doing that?

And even if it did we'd just have to #dealwithit

the NFL Commissioner from just last year

"I think there's no question that London could support not just one franchise, I think two franchises, I really believe that," said Goodell, speaking on a panel that also included Osi Umenyiora, Victor Cruz and Maurice Jones-Drew.

Goodell is completely full of shit.

If any of the other Yanks around here want to disagree with me go ahead, but I don't think it was ever more than a pipe dream, and now it's yesterday's pipe dream.

And then even beyond that, to the extent it would even be contemplated, Shad Khan would be the owner, he's been the pioneer in this space and the NFL owners (who control the league, Goodell is purely a puppet) would never, ever, ever screw over one of their own to let in an outsider.

"Its an NFL stadium and that's the key message. From the very start during the design phase we have had the NFL in mind. The anchor tenant is Tottenham Hotspur , but this is designed to be a permanent home for the NFL outside of the US"

The exact words of Tottenham Hotspur head of business development, Aiden Mulally

I think it's pretty obvious what the goal is.

I do find it kinda surprising the NFL still plays at Wembley given its limitations as a handegg venue. Higher capacity I suppose.

NFL will either be a costly error for ENIC'S empire building or if they get the franchise a commercial wonderland but sadly no impact for the hand that feeds it all.

Tottenham FC have funded their dreams and will always pay the price for their absolute greed.
