So are the facts as follows:

- With 42k season ticket holders able to recoup the full cost of the ticket, season ticket holders will benefit more from the increase in price than the club

- THFC one of just three clubs not raising season ticket prices in the PL

- A rise in Cat A games from £62 to £78 now means that someone who was previously able to afford 5 cat A games can now afford 4.

???

It’s early , so I’m not sure if I understand your post but , you do know why people buy tickets , don’t you ? It’s not an investment to make money on , it’s to actually go to the event .

Oh Christ , it’s you …. Never mind

Have a gif of a Binturong, having a tickle

According to The Daily Mail, four clubs are freezing their season tickets.

TL;DR

- Chelsea, Sheffield United, Brentford and THFC have frozen their prices.
- Six clubs are raising them by 5% or less.
- A further five are raising them between 5% and 10%.
- Fulham and NF have the steepest percentage rises (18, 20%).
- Only Woolwich has more expensive base-level season tickets than THFC.

We’ve only frozen prices as they are already 200% higher than average across other PL clubs. Let’s not dress it up as some sort of concession

The only reason I can think of, seeing as the club aren't gaining anything, is to try and attract "real fans" and therefore have a better atmosphere in the ground.🤷🤷🤷
The club are gaining money from the increase in prices and my guess is next year ST prices will rise to match , there are hundreds of thousands of people on The ST waiting list , if they wanted one they would get one, to think levy is doing this to have a better atmosphere is laughable!

Absolutely. It’s clear from the chart at the end of The Daily Mail article, that the Woolwich and THFC prices are out of step with the other PL teams. Clearly, this limits the proportion of supporters who can afford it.

Is it good value, a fair price? My grasp of economics is sketchy, but I remember hearing somewhere that the financial value of things is set by what people will pay for them. And, clearly, rightly or wrongly, there are people prepared to stump up this kind of money. ☹️

He’s looked after the 42k season ticket holders and is going to rinse the thousands of Johnny come lately foreigner Aussies who show up to support their manager.

I have absolutely no issue with that.

I'm an aussie who lives in NZ so technically I am a "foreigner Aussie" that you're looking down your nose at.

I also flew over to watch Spurs twice last season at great cost to my wallet and liver. Im sure you have no issue with that but I have an issue with anybody who thinks one section of the fanbase deserves to get rinsed because they are foreign. Jesus wept.

I don't think the club is gaining money from it.

As already explained by others the monies go to the ST holder with an administration fee taken by the club.

How much that administration fee is I don't know, but I'm fairly sure that it's so minimal that it won't affect the bottom line if the club by 1%.

As I said there's literally no gain for Enic, so it's baffling why they'd do it.
My suggestion was the only thing I could come up with as it makes zero sense.🤷🤷🤷

Maybe I’m missing something here but there are only 42k season ticket holders so that still leaves a lot of tickets that get sold to members , at an increased price now?

But not all 42k would be sold, I'm assuming,.🤷

So let's say half are sold, which even then seems too much, and let's say the club received £5 on every transaction (I've literally no idea how much they get) that works out at @ £100k.

For that minimal amount it's not worth the bad PR.

Just to be clear this isn't a "defending Levy" thing, I'm genuinely struggling to understand the reasoning behind it.🤷🤷

If the club were receiving all the monies I'd get it, but they're not.

Sorry if I've misunderstood but are you saying that the club won't receive any more money from the increase in ticket prices for members ?
According to others in here, that's exactly the situation.
Bar an administration fee which would be so minimal in the whole scheme of things it would be negligible.

Edit
I don't know how many tickets not owned by ST holders go to members ?
