It’s crazy isn’t it. You can’t deny we either don’t spend enough or we spend poorly. Levy & enic are mostly responsible for this.
Just a side note in rugby league. Little Leigh leopards have knocked out the best team in the world to reach a final at Wembley for the first time in over 50 years. Largely due to a big fan of the club & owner spending a lot of £££. The Leigh fans are loving it & it’s good for the sport. Yet we would have a large amount of fans moaning on here that it’s
1) spending above their means
2) they will go bankrupt
3)it’s unsporting & the owner shouldn’t be able to plough his own ££ in to the club he loves.

If/when Kane goes, will some small part of Levy and the board wonder what might have been if they had really had a go at building an elite team around Kane after the CL final?

No. Not a chance.
It’s a bit crazy to me that they built the Best stadium in the world, best training facilities in the world, have one of the best strikers in the world from their academy, and not once even thought about building the best team in the world around him.
Last summer it probably wouldn’t have even cost them that much. Another 100m on top of what they spent, maybe 150m more.
Now they are losing that striker and they know themselves they will be unlikely to ever spend what it takes to get one of the best strikers in the world to replace him.

So long as they keep the club in and around the top half and maybe challenging for the European places, the stadium full, and the money pouring in, for ENIC, it's mission accomplished

Also why I’m not spending any money on the club until they build a team that wins things and represents what this club always has in terms of the football they play.

Amazing that, all this money is generated, and yet we stall and dither like a championship club very strange, from one of Europe's richest clubs.
Yes but what other premier league shop sells NFL merchandise . OK so other teams win all the trophies and buy players the club actually needs, but they can’t sell NFL jockstraps . Some of our fans just don’t understand how good we have it . Well once you have had your jockstrap fitted personally by the transfer committee ( they have lots of spare time apparently ) you will appreciate the bigger picture .
I for one would not swap my NFL jockstrap for a premier league title

Spurs just got taken over in my FM2023 playthrough. Levy, Cullen, etc all out. Brand new board in, led by Luke Allen.
Got excited.
Then they only added £3m more to my transfer kitty and refused to upgrade the training facilities.
