That was the point I was trying to make , but just wasn’t sure. I have tried to erase my memory banks of Sugar , hope to do the same with ENIC soon, but that seems more fantasy than reality

Yeah I think there are numerous examples of fan pressure and unrest forcing the owners to sell..That was the point I was trying to make , but just wasn’t sure. I have tried to erase my memory banks of Sugar , hope to do the same with ENIC soon, but that seems more fantasy than reality
So do West Ham, Brighton, Forest and Bournemouth etc....It's called the Premier League gravy train, my friend.I'll be honest, I'm not enthusiastically pro Levy, but I do think that there's a bigger chance if the club got sold the new owners would invest less. Somehow we are in the top 10 net spenders in the world over the past decade. Above Bayern, Real, Barca, AC/Inter.

Our owners actually invest LESS of our generated wealth back into the football team than any other club in the top 5 leagues in Europe!!!!
To think new owners would invest even less is pure fucking Stockholm Syndrome mate

Yeah I think there are numerous examples of fan pressure and unrest forcing the owners to sell..
Although the main problem we face is how our football club has been fragmented into so many subsidiary companies any potential sale becomes so much more complicated.
I mean. Look at the fucking state if this

There could easily be a situation arise where the football club is sold ( men's and women's)
while other parts of the business empire, including the multi purpose venue, are retained under ENIC ownership. (anchor tenants, anyone)
It's a fucking mess when you think about it. And a sinister one at that.
They built an entire non football related business empire of the back of the fans loyalty with all the different tentacles feeding back to the same grub.
Every club has a similar setup. So sinister you can look is up as public information and share it on a forum
Give it a rest mate - plenty to actually be angry about than reposting things like this which is frankly ridiculous unless you are comparing and contrasting to other owners and telling if this is typical or not.
My guess is..... it is.
I’m now round to the way of thinking that ENIC and Levy either aren’t ambitious enough or capable to take us to the level of regularly competing for the big trophies.
Well he's not wrong in that there is no guarantee that any new owner will invest more than ENIC into the team.
However, I'd say chances of a new owner investing less than Enic stand around 0.01%

Agreed.I just think that there’s a staleness at the club , complacency which generally leads to panic
Football-wise it’s not very well run at all & constantly change “visions” doesn’t help
Agreed.
Levy's plan or whatever you want to call it for the last decade or so was one part built around the stadium and one part around Harry. He seems to have thought that the stadium being built would automatically elevate us to that next level. And he'd jsut need to build around Harry.
Now the stadium is just generating money and Harry is gone and he is either fine with just raking in money, or doesn't know how to move forward.
So sinister you can look is up as public information and share it on a forum

Just wait until he posts the revenue and profit chart again and type WOW!!![]()

The basic problem we have with ENIC is that their appetite for risk is as close to zero as you can get whilst still being involved in PL football.I just think that there’s a staleness at the club , complacency which generally leads to panic

Great postThe basic problem we have with ENIC is that their appetite for risk is as close to zero as you can get whilst still being involved in PL football.
Daniel hedges absolutely everything. Take transfer fees - yes, we pay high fees, but he’s able to unequivocally account for those fees out of our revenue. But it’s the wages that are the killer and he only extends top wages to long time servants that usually can offer a sell-on fee that will accommodate the increase in wages (Harry or Sonny). Wages are a punt on the future. You buy better players on better money with the hope of winning more and increasing revenue.
Now that, is speculation. And Daniel does not like speculation.
You may remember in the Amazon documentary, he did a very earnest to camera moment where he opined on *having* to get transfers right. And how a few bad transfers can be really damaging (in short, Tanguy).
But the damage he was looking so aghast about was financial, not sporting.
Someone on here, I forget who it was, put it very nicely and it was jarring how true it rings - we moved to the new stadium not so that we could finally compete, but so that ENIC no longer had to.
We have a secure revenue stream that will allow us to bobble along but we will never to anything remotely close to the sort of persistent hustle that you need to climb the summit.
Unlike others, I have no issue with being taken over by crooks.
Ah yes.Someone on here, I forget who it was, put it very nicely and it was jarring how true it rings - we moved to the new stadium not so that we could finally compete, but so that ENIC no longer had to.

It's always been the wages. But it’s the wages that are the killer and he only extends top wages to long time servants that usually can offer a sell-on fee that will accommodate the increase in wages (Harry or Sonny).
