It's always been the wages.

Levy broke the habit of a lifetime at Spurs when he gave Dele, Hugo, Kane and Son increased remuneration beyond any previous players.

Walker was the player sacrificed.

The increased wages given to Hugo and Dele were wasted.

Son and Kane justified their increase.

The miser covered himself on their extra wages through the sale of Kane and the Son tourists at the megadome.

No attempt was made to retain Carrick, Berbatov, Modric or Bale when they reached the top player tipping point.

Levy grabbed what he could by exploiting the 'hostage situation' he created with these players.

We are now back at ground zero with ENIC.

I expect a letter from Neymar shortly.

As someone who claims to be for the working man - calling players on the kinds of money you mention hostages feels pretty weird dude.

I don't get you at all.

Noted.

Football is escapism; politics is a personal choice.

I think you have been having similar issues regarding people not getting you though?

Apologising for ENIC is a tough gig at the moment.

Shouldn't you be sympathetic to my plight?

:gallashmm:

I’m now round to the way of thinking that ENIC and Levy either aren’t ambitious enough or capable to take us to the level of regularly competing for the big trophies.

So, in that, I’m in agreement with you.

However, every other piece of bullshit you post on here:

Not one brick
Anchor tenants
Club / corporate structure
Non footballing events
That stupid fucking quote from a book about buying Rangers
Etc

I’m absolutely not in agreement with. The more you post these tin foil hat theories, the more people see you for what you are.

And what's that exactly?

He's pissed off with our shitty owners, what genuine Spurs fan wouldn't be?

I'm not apologising for them - but no one forces players to sign contracts - they are not hostages - the hysteria about this kind of thing is laughable - you're hating the player but ignoring the game my friend.

I understand why every player who has left Spurs, under the miser and Lord Sugar, has done so.

Before Lord Sugar Spurs signed the best available ahead of other big clubs.

Lineker, Gascoigne and Waddle were big players, who joined a big club, who payed big club wages,

I don't hate any Spurs player, who chooses to leave under these owners, apart from the one who went to N5 on a free.

No hysteria here.

Just a resentment for owners who pay themselves at the top end of their profession, charge exploitative ticket prices, at the top end of the spectrum, but fail to apply the same logic to the wages they pay those who earn the profits.

Must be my politics that helps me to see that.

Right, so no hostage situation then.

Just grown, greedy humans and their agents accepting insanely lucrative wages and then crying about it when they want to break a contract.

I accept the principle that if a player signs a contract he should honour it if that is your assertion.

However;

It is best practice within the football industry to pay a player who improves at your club better wages than rival clubs may offer them to break that contract.

That's not me being pedantic.

That is the nature of the industry the best paid chairman in football has chosen to operate.

The miser exploits every person and every situation at THFC.

From the ticket prices he charges supporters to the contracts he awards his players.

Say it isn't so.

If a player is kept hostage, in the manner Harry Kane was, why would you want to defend the miser?

Was Harry Kane being greedy or ambitious?

Do you see the hole you are digging for yourself by attempting to justify the actions of Daniel Greedy?

You don't sign a 6-year deal for 200k at a club like Spurs if you want to guarantee yourself a trophy - it's greed - it's always greed.

If as everyone tells me the only way we can sign the best players is to pay astronomical wages - the kind of wages that in fact have helped to destroy the game - then you cannot flip it back on me and tell me that it is not the players and agents that are greedy.

You have to decide one way or the other mate - simply cannot be both.

Levy is an exploiter.

He exploited Kane's loyalty to Spurs and the fact that he employed his brother as an agent.

That is now an open secret.

I don't regard Kane as a greedy person.

I do accept the hypothesis that most contracts and deals in football are all about the bottom line and the filthy lucre.

I do regard Daniel Levy as a disgustingly greedy person who exploits every situation to the max.

Kane is exceptionally talented as a footballer.

Levy is untalented and exceptionally greedy.

Tell and Danso in since the weekend.

I wonder if those same in here crowing about being embarrassed by tenuous media links over players rejecting us feel the same way now.

Agree about both Kane and Levy -

I regard any footballer as greedy if their MO is to sell themselves to the highest bidder.... Kane may not be that greedy but in 2018 he was in the top 10 highest paid footballers in the league - how is that exploitation?

Levy didn't control the market for players wages - he wasn't the one offering insane money to shit players that drove up the wages of everyone.

Again, hating the player more than the game.....

Levy paid Kane decent money but Kane probably could have done better with a different agent.

The fact that Kane was loyal to Spurs and loyal to his brother tells you more about Levy exploiting that particular situation than it does in respect of any greed on Kane's part.

Harry Kane could have got more money at several other top clubs had he wanted to in 2018.

I don't hate Harry Kane.

I don't hate any Tottenham player.

I don't hate any player of any club.

I want ENIC and Daniel Levy out of Spurs because they exploit everyone and have hurt Spurs continually while grabbing what they can.

And thats fair but I also find it weird you think other chairmen and agents don't exploit their players and situations too.

Santa ain't coming to run spurs mate.

All I'm hearing is that you cannot stand modern football and the greedy fuckers from top to bottom that take part.

My view has been consistent.

I've lived through what ENIC have done at Spurs for 24 years.

Greed is everywhere; not just in football.

There is a lot to like about modern football; the grounds are now safe for people to attend and the access to televised games has helped more people to watch.

The greed and exploitation from some club owners is truly depressing.

Sadly the owners of THFC are specialists in failure on the pitch but they are also the benchmark for the exploitative models elsewhere in the Premier League and in general.

ENIC and Levy as a business are a success.

That is sad.
