I'm not apologising for them - but no one forces players to sign contracts - they are not hostages - the hysteria about this kind of thing is laughable - you're hating the player but ignoring the game my friend.
I understand why every player who has left Spurs, under the miser and Lord Sugar, has done so.
Before Lord Sugar Spurs signed the best available ahead of other big clubs.
Lineker, Gascoigne and Waddle were big players, who joined a big club, who payed big club wages,
I don't hate any Spurs player, who chooses to leave under these owners, apart from the one who went to N5 on a free.

Just a resentment for owners who pay themselves at the top end of their profession, charge exploitative ticket prices, at the top end of the spectrum, but fail to apply the same logic to the wages they pay those who earn the profits.

Just grown, greedy humans and their agents accepting insanely lucrative wages and then crying about it when they want to break a contract.
I accept the principle that if a player signs a contract he should honour it if that is your assertion.
However;
It is best practice within the football industry to pay a player who improves at your club better wages than rival clubs may offer them to break that contract.
That's not me being pedantic.
That is the nature of the industry the best paid chairman in football has chosen to operate.
The miser exploits every person and every situation at THFC.
From the ticket prices he charges supporters to the contracts he awards his players.

If a player is kept hostage, in the manner Harry Kane was, why would you want to defend the miser?

You don't sign a 6-year deal for 200k at a club like Spurs if you want to guarantee yourself a trophy - it's greed - it's always greed.
If as everyone tells me the only way we can sign the best players is to pay astronomical wages - the kind of wages that in fact have helped to destroy the game - then you cannot flip it back on me and tell me that it is not the players and agents that are greedy.

Levy is an exploiter.
He exploited Kane's loyalty to Spurs and the fact that he employed his brother as an agent.
That is now an open secret.
I don't regard Kane as a greedy person.
I do accept the hypothesis that most contracts and deals in football are all about the bottom line and the filthy lucre.
I do regard Daniel Levy as a disgustingly greedy person who exploits every situation to the max.
Kane is exceptionally talented as a footballer.
Levy is untalented and exceptionally greedy.

I regard any footballer as greedy if their MO is to sell themselves to the highest bidder.... Kane may not be that greedy but in 2018 he was in the top 10 highest paid footballers in the league - how is that exploitation?
Levy didn't control the market for players wages - he wasn't the one offering insane money to shit players that drove up the wages of everyone.

Levy paid Kane decent money but Kane probably could have done better with a different agent.
The fact that Kane was loyal to Spurs and loyal to his brother tells you more about Levy exploiting that particular situation than it does in respect of any greed on Kane's part.
Harry Kane could have got more money at several other top clubs had he wanted to in 2018.

My view has been consistent.
I've lived through what ENIC have done at Spurs for 24 years.
Greed is everywhere; not just in football.
There is a lot to like about modern football; the grounds are now safe for people to attend and the access to televised games has helped more people to watch.
The greed and exploitation from some club owners is truly depressing.
Sadly the owners of THFC are specialists in failure on the pitch but they are also the benchmark for the exploitative models elsewhere in the Premier League and in general.
ENIC and Levy as a business are a success.
That is sad.
