Been supporting Spurs since 1986, through thin and thinner, and I can't think of too many consecutive years when the hope has drained more and more each season.
Only Spurs could decide to build a stadium at a time when we had the best squad we've had in years, and then not maintain the squad.
Sadly, I'm long past expecting a trophy or even a win, because football is not a priority at the club. Levy likes to buy cheap young players in the hope that they grow in value for the balance sheet, for when he eventually sells the club. Once in a while, he recognises the need to secure CL revenue and splashes out, on totally the wrong players who are overpriced and either not really tested in the Prem or are injury prone. I think we've wasted near on £300m of the £400m or so spent in the last few years. The best players are always injured and the the young are mostly not ready or go out on loan.
I would like to see the back of Levy, because in all those years in charge, we have consistently been inconsistent, with a revolving management door, desperate managerial appointments, desperate player signings and no clear plan, other than to make Spurs more of a business than a football club. I can't stand the sight of him.
Final point, Ange is out of his depth, shows no tactical acumen and is another rash gamble by Levy. Despite all the injuries, I look at the starting 11 and think we should give them a decent game at least. And we rarely do. Right now, our club is mostly rubbish, from top to bottom. Save to a few shining lights, the squad is not blessed with players that other teams would be queuing up to buy.
