I look at those scenes of absolute joy......And passion.....Green with envy. Thousands upon thousands celebrating what football is all about.

And then I think of the few miserable cunts on here who climb on their high horse to bemoan the possibility of a Qatari buy out because, they say, any success we achieve would be meaningless and worthless.

Stick with ENIC and Levy, they say. Doing it the right way, they trope

Fucking Losers!
Death to petro murder ball cunts !!!!

Uh unless they are doing us a favour like stopping Woolwich winning the league or something ......

The moral crusaders are happy if, the club in another 25 years time is still in the same position.
Like levy, no desire to win anything but, don't forget we have the hotel and golf course to be proud of.

The miserable part is it hasn’t been bad enough to really unite the fanbase and force change or action. ENIC have not been terrible by any means, but they’ve never, ever taken a risk and gone for it. They’ve got lucky at times, and unlucky at other times but it’s been so painfully average in terms of drive and will to win. Bland, and the faux slogans etc is just sickening
Yup. They are financially good stewards of the club which is going to keep the media and other clubs going with the "what are you really complaining about?" argument. Especially with so many clubs actually being badly run financially going back at least to the turn of the millennium. Compared to those tricksters ENIC are good owners. They've done just enough to keep opinions from outside of the fandom content and from not judging them. And it is only really with this season that the dislike has started to sipper out into the general footballing space.

Heard a few pundits on sky say about Tottenham were a well run club and careful what you wish for. I wish for a trophy at least every five years and europe. At the moment were languishing in 14th and not won a trophy for 17 years.

Spurs currently have a manager who finds it virtually impossible to win back to back games and a chairman who must understand this and has done nothing about it for over 12 months.

The case for retaining ENIC, Levy and Ange is now non existent.

Levy is yesterday's man and Ange is out of his depth.

Lewis should sack them both.

We are a poorly run football club but a well run business. Lewis cares about money, he won’t sack Levy unless Levy fucks up the money.

In any other corporate business, the CEO would have been sacked years ago for repeated failings.
Maybe Lewis was the kennedy assassin, and levy has this on him, would go some way to understand the lack of ambition on any front.

You do make me laugh, although I do agree with the spirit of your post.

Toon had won sod all for 70 years till they won the cup a week ago, their owners have been there 4 years. ENIC took over in 2001, we won a trophy 5 years later.

So a bit early to be using Newcastle to beat ENIC/Levy, no?

I think all this proves is that 'doing things the right way' rarely get you success any more...

Today's game is ALL about spend as much of someone else's money as possible - however that money was earned - to guarantee success.

Not saying I wouldn't mind a trophy or 20, but we all have to get used to the fact that selling our souls and not minding where the money came from is the ONLY way to do it now.

The disconnect from the club we all love is more prevalent today than it's ever been. That's on Levy and Enic. Its what's driven many of us to give up memberships and Season tickets because although we still care we believe Levy & his board of yes men and women Don't so why bother to waste time and money when its basically 'flogging a dead horse'.
Remember the terms Spursy, Doctor Tottenham and the relentless piss take from the media and random companies never happened before Mr Levy took over so that's something else we can blame them for.
That don't care and they need to fuck off as soon as possible

If the club (owner, management, board) are serious about football as "The Custodians", the question is.. what are the clubs footballing ambitions and how do they expect to achieve them? Are these ambitions good enough?
If these steps to get there have previously failed (repeatedly) what were the consequences and actions of the failure?

I expect a proper response and serious accountability from Levy and the board, instead of hiding behind each other and talking up things that are meaningless to football.

If the answers aren't acceptable, the board and owners have to stand there at half and fulltime with their pants down and explain to the regular punters why they have failed us over and over. Public humiliation and honesty is the only way forward.

Although it is possible one or two of them may crave this treatment.

Without having an eyes and ears in the boardroom and just looking at his tenure as a whole. I assume that Levy sees success as being a club that plays regularly in Europe and competes for trophies. Competes being a key word both in how he feels like he has delivered, and in the gap between him and the fans.

Levy seems to think that just being in the mixer for trophies with high league finishes and deep cup runs as succeeding. Whilst we as fans actually want to win. And this is a key divide between us and him.

It is a bit comical that if we had like two or three more cup titles during Levy's tenure he wouldn't be nearly as disliked as he is.

Well there have been fine lines here and there, or perhaps sliding door moments. Those moments with one or two key signings and that bit more ambition, would have probably seen us get over the line for that elusive success we crave.
