Agree that we have relied on special players to helps us punch to the next level. Eriksen, Kane and Bale were exceptional talents.

I'd argue that a defender can be classed as a match winner. For instance, Cialini, Ramos, Terry. But Romero would need to show a lot more desire to aspire to those levels.

I'm not sure Spurs would realistically be able to sign any established elite talent. Spurs just simply aren't a big club (Money Yes, recognition No). A player signing for Spurs has likely exhausted options at around a dozen more desirable clubs.
 
If people have not woken up and smelt the coffee about our owners by now they never will. I wonder if he is just keeping Ange as a shield for now , he knows the fans hate him but Ange is rightly now drawing some of the fire . Let Ange take the heat until the end of this season , get a new manager for next season and tell the fans the usual lies and watch us renew .

The Ange out cry is justified, but it must not deflect from Keyser Soze getting the blame . Sadly he will not go until somebody pays over the odds


Come on Qatar the vast majority of fans will welcome you with open arms . Only the ENIC in crowd will grumble some fake bullshit about the high moral ground. Give these clowns what they want and then purge their name and memory from every aspect of the club . Once they go we should erase them from our history . The Opus should be updated with them expunged as if the club was abducted by aliens for 25 years

So between April 2019 & April 2025 their investment (net) is £116m per twelve months.

Does not seem all that much to me to be honest.

It’s just a game of monopoly to them really . Using to clubs name to obtain loans to enhance their property portfolio & no kind of return for at least 3 years

Do you know how they are raising the money ? In a previous press release it stated that “ like the stadium we will be borrowing money to finance the build “ . I don’t know how a separate company can obtain a loan with no , as yet , assets .

Another thing that worries me is the NFL extension of just one year , purpose build stadium gets just a one year extension after review. Doesn’t really fill you with confidence

They (concerts etc) are not prioritised in any way. They are are scheduled to fit around the football team events. And all revenue from concerts etc go to the football club (not ENIC) - as well as all revenue from football.

The issue is they lack sporting ambition. They (concerts etc) are seen simply as a safer way to remain at the top table financially in the owners eyes, rather than being competitive and winning trophies and generating extra income that way through being successful on the pitch.

It's just less risky in their eyes but if they had any balls they could make great strides but they won't and it's ultimately the fans who suffer

I think it just comes down to human nature at the end of the day mate.

When we spend years and years believing something and invest so much time passionately defending that belief it will be incredibly difficult to accept, and then openly admit that you've been so wrong for so long.

It affects our self esteem and some people will just dig in even further rather than hold their hands up and concede the blindingly obvious. Especially when, in some cases, they've spent so long attacking and even abusing those on the other side of the debate.

To be fair, I do have some sympathy and have some empathy with the difficult position they find themselves in because, when all is said and done, we all have the same ultimate goal in mind.

Fairly sure that’s what happens with hotels. Often developed, sold and managed via franchise

I don’t totally agree, I was Ange in for a long time . I got that wrong and have no issue in putting my hands up accordingly. Why is it so difficult for people to say I got it wrong . Messing up or making errors is part of life , doubling down and down again if you know you got it wrong is a bit pathetic . If you still genuinely hold those views then that is different, I cannot comprehend how one can still be pro ENIC but I respect that more than the “ my position on this has changed but I can’t face admitting it “ argument.

It truly baffles me that there are so many posters on this thread, and the Ange ones, that seem obsessed by what other posters think. How do you all find the time or energy to give a fuck?

I’ve always had time for ENIC Out posters when I was ENIC In. Not for them all. The ones who continually post lies and bullshit don’t get a pass, but the others, with actual gripes? Crack on. Why would I care what a stranger thinks? Why do you?

Most of the posters still ENIC In on here either don’t post regularly, don’t post in this thread anymore, maybe can’t be arsed changing their votes, or maybe don’t want to be the subject of a pile on if they try to be positive. It’s happening on the main Ange thread, with harry7 being positive and getting a kicking. I like a wee bit of positivity in these dark days - a marked improvement on the constant “fat cunt”, the hilarious “has he gone yet?” and the persistent “anyone who disagrees with me is an idiot” stuff that everyone else posts.

Not one poster on here knows everything about the game or the club, yet many post as if they are the fount of all knowledge. Maybe we respect one another’s opinions more and have a more enjoyable forum?

Maybe he thinks we don’t know that a £70m loss on stadium depreciation isn’t a real loss, just an accounting trick or higher net spend is great but our wage reductions mean we are shopping in Lidl.

He would have been better just saying it’s been a tough year, not done well enough in the league, will do better next season and aim higher and not even bringing up money.

The issue he has is his tricks done work anymore. He needs a new approach but all humans are creatures of habit and he can’t change.
