It seems as if our revenue football wise has dropped while our non footballing side has grown , we played a lot less games less season but the difference from the previous seasons revenue is minimal. Mediocrity is sustainable . 😟

Annoys me he is moaning about football revenue decreasing as if he has no control of it.

You are running the football club ffs, take some responsibility and invest in the team.

He never will though, even when we qualified for the CL it did not lead to any notable increase in player recruitment/spending

Why did we build this stadium again?

I seem to recall levy telling us all 10 years ago that we needed the new stadium to compete with the other top teams. White hart lane was not fit for purpose and the additional revenue the new stadium would generate would ensure we attracted the best players.

What a lot of horsehit
At White Hart Lane they needed the champions league revenue and upto a point did ok on that, between 2005 and 2015 we signed some good players, appointed some decent managers and seemed to want to improve. The issue was not pushing on to improve even more when we were really close to success. They were happy with top 4. They rested on their laurels twice, under Redknapp and Poch.

We dont need Champions league anymore, the league is more competitive, it needs constant investment and improvement and they are happy to maybe get 6th or 7th. I'm sure they'd like to be regulars in the CL but they arent prepared to really push for it anymore.

Yup. There is no new sporting project at Tottenham. The ENIC sporting project ended with the CL final.

Nail on the head. It's easier and less risky to develop other revenue streams. His appetite for football is non-existent.

I’m not going to repeat Kosher Kid Kosher Kid ’s post, as it says what I think and a lot of posters think.

The biggest revenue stream is surely the football club and its success, right? Winning the League or Champions League (fanciful as that sounds) would surely make more money?

I’m a fan of Tottenham Hotspur. For me, winning is everything.
I agree but you have to be realistic. We have not won the Top English division since 1961 & never the top European trophy. Both Mourinho & Pep started chelsea 's & MC 's reign by winning the league cup and getting the winning feeling before going onto better things. Newcastle by winning the League Cup may go onto better things but many have not, but it is a start. Sod the money earnt by the bigger trophies and lets just win something on the football field.

Well, yes, that too.

Successful teams that win trophies gain the fans.

Fans spend… etc.

Which has a higher value if he generates higher income and reduces overheads . He is running the club in my view to maximise its sale value, so he is taking money out but on a deferred basis . I know this is technically what you are saying , but he is extracting a higher valuation now , as in today at the expense of the team . Whether he overvalues it and still doesn’t sell this year or next is irrelevant to me . The club is a revenue up so valuation up whilst based on an expenses down model, that is how I see it .

Agree. It’s fair and correct to argue that Levy is squeezing the margins (wage/revenue) unnecessarily now to maximise the Big Bang when they finally sell.

Along with that (and maybe tied in with that) it’s the actual strategic football decisions (the strategy for recruitment, who runs and operates that recruitment, head coaches etc) has been Levy’s biggest failure, especially the last 7-8 years. And they are fundamental imo.

It’s just the complaining about the non football events that is bonkers. They bring millions into the club budget, this was a massively successful move by Levy, to be applauded, and will help make us attractive potential buyers, that everyone wants.

Exactly.
Small time mentality polluting our fanbase.

One of the current Big 6
Formerly one of the Big 5
Record FA cup winners pre-ENIC
Proud European heritage
Massive fuck-off fanbase
London
9th richest club on planet earth

The list goes on and on

We used to attract the best players. The only reason we don't any more is Daniel Levy and ENIC
John we have won Fuck all since 2008 as you frequently post. Levy's reputation is all over the Internet & Kane left because we were not winning trophies.

Maybe people don’t think they are wrong? I’m interested in other opinions, as in this case, I believed Levy when he said that the new stadium would lead us into a new era of success. Others didn’t believe that. What did they see that I didn’t? I’m interested to know.

I still believe Levy works like a bastard flor us. I still believe he wants the football team to be a trophy winning success. Others on here say he’s only interested in concerts and doesn’t prioritise for the football team. What are they seeing that I’m not? I’d like to know.

But, asking that on here, in the present circumstance of our on field performances is basically like standing at the end of a corridor, legs apart and asking everyone to take a nice long run up to hoofing me in the balls. I can’t be arsed. And the huge number of posts every day having pops at fans of the same fucking club we all support, beggars belief. There’s some Spurs fans being treated worse on here than Gooner interlopers. Place has become a fucking shitshow of keyboard cunts calling out fellow fans in a manner they’d never dare do in person. And decent fans and debaters, like yourself, aren’t helping matters by concentrating on this area either.

Anyway, I’m in danger of becoming a “let’s all just love one another” hippy, slo I’ll fuck off now. Appreciate the response man.
I too was willing to stay on board for the new stadium era and I don't think that was unreasonable with hindsight given the progress we had seen in the prior years and the messaging we were getting. But it's clear now that winning is not Levy's priority - surely you agree with that?

"I still believe he wants the football team to be a trophy winning success" - one thing is wanting us to win things (why would he not?) another thing is actively, single-minded pursuing trophies like other big clubs do. Clearly we will never do this under ENIC.
