I notice the Tottenham Hotspur Hotel accounts have been filed - 6 weeks late, no doubt hoping they would slip under the radar.
Over £10m spent on the hotel (to June 2024, no doubt much higher now) - with no external investment. The money has come from the football club - related party transactions in the accounts. So when Levy says that we cannot spend what we don't have, he obviously doesn't mean building hotels.
Without the external investment will he borrow to complete the build (more financial covenants - lower salaries).

Dudu & co won’t like this.

Great post, mate.

It seems that, instead of the added real estate would help propel the football club forward, the football side of the operation is funding all the projects and real estate.
This clearly shows what many have known, that Enic has no passion for football, only what it can get out of it for pushing the sale price up.

Precisely the opposite is true.

I’m amazed how insensitive to facts people can be.

Opposite of what? That they are pushing the sale price up?
The stadium and other developments have helped to find the football team, not the other way around.

The football team is the only part of the business which is at risk of being loss making. It currently is loss making.

To say otherwise is to be completely disconnected from reality.

My mate is chairman of a step 3 FC. He has put x10 as much of his money into that club than Levy, and has a wage bill higher than 35% of revenue - albeit carefully managed. We are a fucking joke compared to part time clubs/owners, let alone our rivals

My mate has a shoe store. I’m sure he could teach the chairman of Nike a thing or two.

Great post NottinghamHotspur 👏

You should contribute more often.

Or are the developments funding the next development. Hotels ae costly and not easy to make a significant profit from. how is it being funded - are they borrowing more money or will it be funded by our season ticket/Sky money. The fact that they delayed the filing of the hotel accounts tells me alot.

Developments funding the next Developments? Hard to argue with that. 🤷‍♂️

If they're funding the team, how come we invest less of our income in the team than everyone else?
How to all these other clubs without these other income streams invest more of their resources in the playing squad than us?

It’s fairly clear what the aim is , the fact that hotel has had internal investment of £10m last year says it all . You can spin it anyway you want but in his own words “ Every penny will go on the squad/ team” this was a clear lie . Personally I don’t consider a hotel the club and as others have pointed out , it’s not a hugely profitable business model , unless you’re talking real estate & that value will not affect Spurs one bit albeit upping the value of the whole business if sold.

That’s because you’re mixing everything up and getting confused about why you have salad.

The other investments help to fund our football operations. The stadium is front and centre in that.

Separately is the question of how much of that revenue we spend on wages. And you’re correct that we don’t spend as much as our rivals.

I’m proud that we are run self-sufficiently without a sugar daddy. That is the strength of the club rather than just our owner.

You don’t have a lick of evidence that money is leaving the football club to be spent on the hotel.

Your suspicions are a reflection of your bias rather than reality.

If you have a look on company house regarding the hotel , you’ll see Current liabilities ;

Amounts owed to group undertakings of £8,207,633 & some other bits like Trade payables £2.7m ( Trade payables (also called trade accounts payable) are the money a business owes for goods and services when buying them on credit. You can record trade payables on a balance sheet as current or noncurrent liabilities, depending on when the business pays the debt.)

You think the hotel alone acquired the goods on credit off its own back ?

“ All Anounts owed to Group undertakings are unsecured & interest free”

It’s pretty self explanatory

Anyways
