ENIC In or ENIC Out

I think it’s fair to assume Levy and Lewis made a gentlemen’s agreement when forming ENIC and buying the club that Lewis would fund it, Levy would have control to develop it, he would never ask Lewis for more money to buy players and such forth, and when the time came to sell, it would be at both their choosing.

That’s why Levy fucking about and acting unprofessionally with a potential Qatari bid when Lewis was keen wouldn’t make sense. If Lewis felt he was not acting respectfully he could sell it out from under him IMO.

I also feel Levy knows there’s a ticking clock to all this. When Lewis dies, his kids won’t be held to their agreement. If they want to sell, they’ll do it whatever he thinks about it.
Your speculation is as good as any though DL has form for interpretation of gentlemen agreements.

I hold my hand up and admit the revelation about the loans is a real deal killer. No way the Banks are going to continue the ridiculously low interest rate of repayment if a change of ownership occurs even if the buy out was leveraged.

Ultimately Lewis has no reason to be doubtful of Levy given the way he’s developed the investment. But he’s still at the whim of his patronage.

He will continue to grow the non football events for year round, solid, guaranteed income.
The team will be run on a shoestring. Wages will reduce, younger players brought in on tens, not hundreds of thousands. We will never actively invest enough money in the playing staff to seriously attempt to win a big prize*
*The europa league, much as people want it to be, is not that hard to win and not that big a prize
And some people calling themselves 'Spurs Fans' are happy for this to continue. Nay, they encourage it and spend hours every day defending it.😵‍💫

As I've said, budding psychologists of some future generation will probably be using our fan base as a case study

If Lewis wants to sell, the club gets sold.

The big and scary “made money from other people’s misery”, Patagonia destroying monster is the view many on here have of Lewis, whilst also regarding Levy as a small, wet paper bag.

Yet, we also think that Levy has the decision to sell or not? Nah.

No reason for Lewis or his family taking over the reins to be unhappy with Levy's stewardship thus far he is a veritable commercial wizard but that matters not one iota should the Lewis family trust decide to sell up, Levy or no Levy.
Daddy Lewis loves his gold nuggets. Will the kids be apples that fall miles from that tree? Keep reading that this is a massive cash cow for ENIC, so why on earth would they sell? They don’t even have to be involved, as Joe isn’t, just a few lines on a balance sheet.

Gotta be a wum moment? G'wan I'll bite. Since it's inception only 3 British teams have ever won the (worra) trophy and Liverpool, ManUx2 , Arsewipes, Rangers and Fulham have all reached finals and lost out.

As to the size of the prize only the CL is bigger on a global basis and a dropping in the standard of teams competing is as much to do with the money grabbers who organise it by changing the format and it is up to those who qualify to prepare accordingly and manage a path to the final whilst also having to perform on a weekly basis with their domestic schedules.

I've explained why dozens of times.
Not wasting my time again.

Why indeed? It is a question among many I am unable to answer. Why then actively look for investment or be involved with talks for potential buyers if there isn't either a cashflow problem or they're looking to cash in if the price is right? Again I don't know the answer I was asserting the view (my POV) to those who believe Baldy is in the driving seat when it comes to selling control that he is in point of fact a back seat driver.

Are we actively looking for investment? The only thing I’ve ever heard about this from a personal source is that Middle East money wanted to talk as they were interested. Have we seen anything to suggest ENIC are out and about with the begging bowl?

Levy said they are looking for investment. Can’t remember whether it was the financial statement or the fan forum.
I thought that was common knowledge. Just seems his valuation of the club is so artificially high he can't get anyone to invest.

Investors want value for money. If a 10% stake is costing £400million based on a £4billion valuation they ain't getting much clout of influence for their outlay.

If Levy genuinely cares about the football club being successful where it matters, he'd be encouraging the Lewis family to sell up entirely to owners with the will and the ability to compete with our rivals.

If the bit about Lewis agreeing to sell is accurate then Levy's intransigence is pretty irrelevant tbh.

All any potential buyer looks for is over all control and ENIC's share should be enough to satisfy the 51% threshold therefore Baldy would be set for a parting of the ways.

Contrary to popular opinion Levy's share of 29%+ relates to ENIC not THFC as does the 69%+ of the Lewis family which means there is circa 15% held by others.

If anything winning a trophy has delayed the departure of Levy and the news about the loan conditions might easily retain his presence for another 10-15 years?
People like me.

I bought shares in the IPO in the early 80’s and have never sold even when ENIC tried to mop up small shareholders. When ENIC puts money into the club they do it via a share issue to themselves which dilutes small shareholders like me. Doesn’t honestly bother me. I don’t keep the shares for investment purposes, just for sentimental reasons.

I imagine that if the Qataris came in the small shareholders will be moped up. I’m ok with this if it takes the club forward.

Whilst I hate the legal and cultural system in Qatar and ideally don’t want petro-dollars owning my club, the reality is if we don’t get on board with someone like this we will get left behind.

ENIC needs to be doing all the tricks and feints that other clubs are doing. They need to get with the programme or hand over to someone who will.

I haven’t listened to this podcast yet about the Qatari interest in taking over Tottenham getting approved by Lewis but stymied by Levy. It could be just someone making a story up but I wonder if it has some truth with the following happening subsequently
- Donna Cullen retirement. She was seen as a Levy minion even though she was supposed to hold the power of the Lewis shareholding
- Peter Charrington appointment as a Director. Charrington is Bahamas-based and in the inner-circle of Lewis.

On face value it’s either a very well constructed yarn or it’s on point.

Charrington is the one. He is meant to be a guy Lewis put in when he wants changes. He isn’t there to eat in the cheese room, he clearly is here for something big but what that is who knows.
