No smoke without fire and all that.

I think something must be cooking
The source of that smoke...

This will fuck our green credentials and organic bloody garden, won't it? But at least we'll be able to afford a flippin' striker.

I'm having trouble finding the answer on Google, does anyone know if the Premier League allows for an entity to have shares in multiple clubs AT ALL?

UEFA has a limit at 30%, the EFL has a limit at 10%, what's the story with the PL?

EDIT: Looks like 10% for the PL too. And it's 5% that would trigger the "related party transaction" rules around sponsorship deals.
Aramco is 90% owned by the Saudi Royal Family. PIF has 4%. Sanabil has 4%. Public shareholders have the other 2%.

The royal family own PIF and PIF owns Sanabil.

I’m perfectly fine with KSA in general. Sorry Micky Bubbles Micky Bubbles . But even I’d struggle to argue this is not a conflict and it’s not going to happen.

Well right, under absolutely no circumstances should anyone deem PIF or its subsidiaries to be "independent" from Aramco, or either of them independent from the Saudi Royal Family.

But the rules do apparently allow for the controlling owner of one club to buy a stake of less than 10% of a different club.

As long as we're idly speculating, is it possible the Saudis have gotten a feel for how PSR is being enforced and now realize that their ambitions in the Premier League simply aren't possible in a market the size of Newcastle where they don't own their own stadium?

Could they stuff Spurs as full of cash as the rules will allow for a third party now, build up a huge reserve of PSR headroom, divest control of Newcastle and buy out ENIC?

Totally speculative, but possible.

Well, it is pretty difficult to buy a club like Newcastle - as well supported as they are - and expect it to be a jewel in the crown.

I mean, it is still a club in.... well, Newcastle. And the fans are still horse punching loons with indecipherable accents and reasonably-priced homes. That presents a bit of a ceiling on revenue when compared to a club in London, which has some weird attraction to foreign investors.

The work Levy has put in to the economics of the club means that an investor could literally spunk half a billion into a totally new squad and still pass PSR. I'm sure the venue could also be manipulated to create an embellished revenue stream too. It makes sense why a UAE-like investor would see us as very appealing as a vehicle.

No it was hyperbole.

We are in the realm of acknowledging that he doesn’t have « neurotypical behaviour » and entertaining the idea that he might have « undisclosed psychiatric problems ».

Clearly his actions on here are not well adjusted. Like many others but he is particularly… neurotic.

JT, in my opinion he's pretty straight forward, he says what he wants, doesn't get into elongated 'debates' arguments, or slanging matches.

Listen to yourself man. Your embarrassing yourself. There's absolutely no need for shit like this. Quit following me around and obsessing yourself with me.
It's a football forum ffs.

Admin Admin . This is getting fucking ridiculous

Sami Mokbel thinks that the funds are coming from ENIC itself. Because they weren't happy with how things went last season.

Lewis has finally gone senile and Levy is running one of those phone scams that target the elderly.

I think it most likely. Gold has been saying the same for a few months. They’re too greedy to get other investors in to dilute their share when they eventually sell. Had they wanted to go down that route they’d have partnered up years ago.

Hotel/resi funding will come from banks or a developer taking on most of the financial risk. Remember, ENIC are financially risk averse over anything else. They never want there to be a minuscule chance that they will have to cough up their own money. They’d rather lose some future returns to a developer than their own money day one.

Yeah what if ENIC, the entire entity, is being cashed in on and not the club?

But I find that hard to believe.

Any news for us will have to hit companies house and be published on there first so until then it’s all guessing and probably made up.
