I think now the kane and son comfort blanket has been taken away it is welcome back to the real world to the ownership.

Nobody want to do business with levy. Hes the one person every owner probably dreads getting a phone call from about buying a player. Hes squeezed just about every club to the maximum with his negotiation tactics and there all fed up, especially now alot more of them have the money to be able to pit 2 fingers up to him.

Like you, I think Levy is now damaged goods, in as much as even doing things his preferred way has led to two failed bids, the second of which only occurred because the first fell through, and even if it is a decision Gibbs'White lives to regret.

I am really cautious about hoping we see a change of ownership however, because we only have to look at Everton and Leicester for example, to see how it can end. Indeed look at Forest, who could easily become the nect drama.

What always matters to me us the quality of the tean. Levy needs to ensure (doing his best is not enough) that the club buy/bring in 2/3 players in the next few days.

Then we need to see some kind of change but what that looks like I am less clear about.
FWIW, I think both MGW and EE will regret their decisions. I very much hope they do.

As for a change of ownership, we have to hope it’s not a leveraged buy out like Man Utd have had. I think our only hope is that owners become bored of either PSG or Newcastle and sell up to buy us (both possible), or more likely, we get added to the Kuwaiti investment strategy.

Not sure nobody wants to do business with him. We’ve signed dozens of players under his leadership.

Levy's way of doing business was just a somewhat more shrewd and aggressive version of the normal way of operating back in like 2005.

Over time it curdled into an absurd and backward farce that ground our ability to do anything to a literal halt, the football world radically changed and Levy couldn't.

Starting with the arrival of Paratici, things changed and it had really seemed that Levy was more removed from the day-to-day of transfer business, with the occasional exception.

But this summer we are seeing a lot more reports of Levy's personal involvement, bad old habits, with bad old results creeping back in.

It's bad. This is no way to run a railroad.

The lack of reporting on Kudus until it was almost done and the farcical reporting and backtracking on our two fuckups leads me to not believe a word that is said by Romano, Ornstein and their ilk.

So I’m not convinced as to how much or how little Levy has been involved. However, if he has been, he’s fucked up and obviously doesn’t trust the people he employed. And if he hasn’t, they aren’t capable of doing the job, so should be fucked off sharpish. Either way, the bucket of shit has now come to a shuddering halt at his desk.

Ok I generalised abit much there.

I think his negotiation tactics work better for buying less established players who we identify as being on the up. This is because we pay a decent price for those players and the clubs we buy off probably see it as a good tradeoff between what they get at the time from us and the likelyhood of that said player kicking on and being worth more if they keep them.

Eg, vdv, udogie, vicario. These are more likely to come off because we have lists of potential alternatives we can move onto.

But when it comes to getting players we really need, specific players of quality hes a nightmare and ill equipped in the modern game.

I agree and also think that Levy has also had some wins under his belt by acting that way, which just gives him further justification in how he operates.

I think he overestimates the impact of the few wins he's been able to get, but the losses he's taken have a lingering impact on his decisions. When we were really firing under Poch it was almost a justification that our low spend strategy worked and that big spend =/= success. Then when he did make a huge purchase with Ndombele, it was almost a double-whammy that when he did stick his neck out it blew up in his face.

One point of consideration is that businesses like to work with others that are reliable and easy to work with. Another club isn't likely to refuse to work with Levy, but there's no doubt that how we operate is going to have an effect on how other clubs approach a deal and/or the speed at which they're going to work with us.

I think the fact that we're valued so highly limits the pool of potential buyers so hopefully that's unlikely to happen.
Change from within is our best hope in the short term. Old man Lewis was as you have stated not interested in football but he is no longer in control, his family are. His daughter was seated next to Levy last Saturday and I read that she is more interested in football. She is an ENIC board member. I do not know if she is still in the country but if so she would have seen first hand Levy's failure to get EZE first hand.
After Saying a few months ago that the club had no money suddenly we are looking to spend £120m +. The money was not there so what has changed? Has ENIC put money into the club? I do not think ENIC will go as far as sacking Levy but they could curtail his role and possibly provide more funds.

We've been hearing this since the start of the summer. Guess what? Nothing's changed. Nothing will.

Apparently the club have an unused overdraft of £55m, and £80m cash reserves, also CL money to add to it. But there's also a large transfer debt last year at £337 million.

Adam Williams an apparent football finance expert says the club is probably going to see revenue of £650million in 2025-26.

All according to the information on the website that I have left a link to.

But it is not just money. Levy must be made to take a back seat and it is either the protests or via ENIC and with the next generation of Lewis's now in charge they may just force him after witnessing recent events.

For the most part, the aversion is to state owned clubs, not Arabs.

There are also people that would swap levy for Mr. Marinakis, when it’s more likely than not that Marinakis is a heroin kingpin that has had people killed. Thats a no for me. If we picked up new owners that were responsible for global atrocities, I’d find a new club.

Pah!

Man called him a Heroin Kingpin (TM) hahaha

I'm never deleting this app

Not just Ndombele.

Tottenham's record signing recent history:

Bent
Lamela/Soldado
Sissoko
Sanchez
Ndombele
Solanke

Not exactly an inspiring list...

Easy to see why he thinks 4 £20M players > 1 £80M. Eggs and baskets.

Very true. He’s turning up to porn shoot after porn shoot with his mangled 3.5 inch pecker and wondering why he’s not getting laid

Hello all, 1st time poster & season ticket holder. Hope you are doing well.

Been following this thread over the summer & Paddy Power said it best IMO. The last 3 months haven’t been great!

I cried tears of joy. Nay, sobbed uncontrollably over the euphoria of an ugly & beautiful cup final win that removed decades worth of “almost” & public humiliation over being Spursy.

I found Daniel Levy’s statement of wanting to win CL & PL remarkable & was excited for the future even though unsure if sacking Ange was correct, despite being Ange out from after the 10 game unbeaten honeymoon was over. Football is a game of emotion and momentum IMO.

I am a numbers man & looking at our PSR status I was optimistic that now we would finally execute the stated long term vision of serious investment to the team to kick us on to the ‘established elite’ level on the world stage.

Currently signed long term sick off work for serious mental health issues & have only recently got past rock bottom after googling buildings to jump off in London. My mother has cancer, dog has been involved in an horrendous accident and I lost all my life savings. These are only recent events after the breakdown of my engagement, loss of employment & battle with addiction.

I share this, because we all need to come together now and remember we are human & football is a tradition of community escape & fanfare embroiled in bitter competition. Now please pardon my French. I use these terms not to denigrate those (suffering) but call out what I recognise in myself.

Why is this thread so fucking bipolar? It’s like a microcosm of every other issue in modern society that polarises. We have no clue about the ins and outs of MGW and EZE.

Surely we can all agree:

Our recruitment standards have not matched investment levels

We have the capacity to be more aggressive with transfers

We have been over promised and underdelivered since the new stadium was first announced

Sometimes our public business is shambolic and has been for a long time.

Levy has overseen all of this.

I used to be a businessman & don’t want to engage in the cliche insults over Daniel, they are self evident anyway. However, despite the successes we and he have achieved during his tenure it’s time for him to relinquish exec control.

Surely, even if you want to build him a statue it would be prudent for such a caretaker of our club, our one and only club, to at least start to introduce a non related prodigy to bring up to speed/ train. I would prefer new owners, however I am at the point now where it gets so boring and depressing Levy being the main issue that I’d take anyone else. We have the infrastructure to sustain future success regardless of owners/leaders IMO. He’s a toxic control freak & while we’re all trying to be polite and right he’s fleecing us out of more glory.

Now, can we all stop arguing agree I’m right ;) and start sucking each other off please?

TL:DR I’m a cunt / levy is a cunt / we are all cunts / COYS

Big love.
