Even now some fans refuse to accept any negative press about the man
Are those of us who appreciated what Levy did in spite of how useless Lewis was now taking over as Anti-ENIC whilst the previous anti-ENIC are now seemingly pro-ENIC???

Be interesting to see how player trading is done post Levy.
You could see it in that Neville interview…. Open and friendly taking about the stadium, his work etc…. Move onto football matters and he’s closed and cold.Have you ever really heard anything to the contrary, outside of negativity of fans?
Seen regularly about doing normal people stuff, approachable as a person, and seemingly from all the players and managers he was very much the same. Again, has a wide network of friendships within club ownership circles. We're one of the few clubs I've heard of that is referenced as having close relationships with clubs we have no shared ownership with
Seems more to me that there are clubs that don't like him for what he stands for and against (artificial revenue streams). Even the 'anti-levy' sentiments are based very, very, heavily on conjecture or projection than actually him as a person - or at least it has always seemed that way.
The main issue for the outside world is that he seems to have been turned into a caricature by the basis of not being a public persona. Media created various tropes over the years that someone like Simon Jordan would have spoken out against and rebuffed, but the issue with our club is that we have never acted that way.
Anyway, can we somehow agree, going forwards:
- Who will be to blame for transfers not being completed
- Who those of us on the non-Levy-hating side are supposedly being paid for to post here (as is one common cliche)
- Is John Thomas now "pro-ENIC" considering how he's reacting in general
- Are those of us who appreciated what Levy did in spite of how useless Lewis was now taking over as Anti-ENIC whilst the previous anti-ENIC are now seemingly pro-ENIC???
Be interesting to see how many sales we've made in that timeframe. Signing players is not easy (they're mostly very rich clubs with richer owners than us) but we used to get rid of our tat to others much easier.I could have told you that 10 years ago. Don't need a source, you just need to look at the ever decreasing number of transfers between us an PL clubs.
Example
15/16 - 0 signings from PL teams. Only Trippier came from an English side - Burnley who were Championship.
We managed to get Alderwiereld and stitch up Southampton in the process.
16/17 - 1 PL signing - Wanyama, oddly from the team we pissed off the year before
17/18 - 2 PL signings. A backup keeper (again from Southampton) and Llorente
18/19 - Lolz
19/20 - 0 PL signings
20/21 - 1 - PEH - again - Southampton!
21/22 - 0
22/23 - 3 - ANOTHER Southampton Player, Brighton and Everton
23/24 - 1 - Johnson for Forrest
24/25 - 1 - Solanke from Bournemouth
25/26 - 1 - Kudus from WHU
So in 10 years or so, we have only bought players from Southampton, Bournemouth, Brighton, West Ham, Swansea and Forest as PL teams. 10 years and we have bought from 6 rivals in total.
Just seemed obvious to me that he had burned most bridges. A lot of those deals above were first time dealings with those clubs.
Bit of a surprise Southampton kept selling to us after we took Poch, Mitchell and Toby.
Then again, we failed to get a few of their desirable players in 14/15 IIRC. Llalalalalalalalalana and J-Rod?
Another data point that’s very loudBe interesting to see how many sales we've made in that timeframe. Signing players is not easy (they're mostly very rich clubs with richer owners than us) but we used to get rid of our tat to others much easier.
Ah get over yourself. Jesus Christ.Quite naive to say really. Imagine thinking BBC are the holders of truth.
Nice list here if you want some references: BBC controversies - Wikipedia
I think sales for us have become a problem since the stadium change. We signed TND, Sess and GLC in 2019/2020 for well over £100m but only raised £30m or so.Be interesting to see how many sales we've made in that timeframe. I wonder how well that sits with some of our fans who love to look down on the cheating oil money clubs.
Yea not short of a few bob ....net worth 1.3 trillion pounds.. ....I wonder how well that sits with some of our fans who love to look down on the cheating oil money clubs.
Will they support another team if we became one of those?
I think with the amount of prudence we have had to endure for 25 years, we're owed a bent-money spending spree.I wonder how well that sits with some of our fans who love to look down on the cheating oil money clubs.

They'll probably just follow Tavistock full timeI wonder how well that sits with some of our fans who love to look down on the cheating oil money clubs.

I don’t think you’ll see the same splurge we did when Citeh were taken over.I wonder how well that sits with some of our fans who love to look down on the cheating oil money clubs.

For example, PSR has hamstrung Newcastle’s new owners.
Where we have an advantage is the higher turnover and PSR headroom, but I doubt we’d see the stupid levels of investment like when Abramovich and Sheik Mansour arrived, if/when our club is sold.
We could throw down a billion in a window easyI don’t think you’ll see the same splurge we did when Citeh were taken over.

I would argue the opposite. That's what these big groups are doing when they get football teams. They're going to try and win, because winning is the best way get endorsements, global popularity.I don’t think you’ll see the same splurge we did when Citeh were taken over.

Lakers were recently bought for 10Billion USD so there is money flying around right now. If we do want a big spender it would probably have to be an American or Middle eastern.I would argue the opposite. That's what these big groups are doing when they get football teams. New owners here could go out and spend over a billion on a 3 year window with no issue at all. And investing on the playing squad is all that needs invested in just now, 90% of the infrastructure is done, compared with other projects. Whoever buys it is going to try and make them the best, you're not dropping billions to keep them ticking over. It's a huge swinging dick competition.
