Seems clear to me its just a case of Vivienne wanting to stamp her authority on the club. New king brings in their own ministers and all that. Levy was her father's man and she'd never really control the club with him still in place.

Not sure very much at all will change. At the end of the day, like we've discussed many times, the Lewis family just don't have the money that the other ownership groups do. Spurs have been run the way they have been for decades because of that, and I just don't see any reason that will be any different now - not as if VL has her own money to chuck in. Any revenue from a new minority partner will be used to buy Levy out.

Happy to be proven wrong, but I'm not holding my breath.

I have that sense of dread too. I guess we'll see when we go after that ST and LW with cash and wages whether anything has or will change.

I think they're holding on til the new TV rights deals and then they sell up.
 
Got to give them a window or two , they’re talking of a major change in direction but I won’t be holding my breath.

I expect little change but it’s silly to lambast them before anything has happened .

'Them'? You realise ENIC is not one person right? And you know that Joe Lewis stepped back and then Daniel Levy was forced out? Those two individuals drive our club's strategy for the last 24 years. And they're both not involved any more. Have an open mind and try and see the gl;ass as half full. I appreciate fans are suspicious and will want to wait until they see proof, but it is so frustrating to see fellow fans bring out all the same old lines and refuse to be positive.

It is very clear to say they cannot pump in hundreds of millions and spend it on players due to FFP / PSR rules, but if they chuck in £100m here and there to keep our cash flow healthy and moving we can maintain being one of the top 5 net spenders in Europe (which we have been since the new stadium was fully opened post Covid). We just need to improve in two areas:

1. Increase the wage bill to buy better players, which means we can ....

2. Buy more experienced players for the here and now.

We also need to adopt a more coherent approach to squad management. We desperately need to improve how we move players on. Richarlison, Tel, Johnson, Bentancur, Dragusin could all be good examples of that in the next 9 months.

Happy to see positivity when I see some tangible evidence, until then I'll remain sceptical.

I think that will be the improvement most people expect , anything less then it’ll all seem a bit same old same which should be recognised fairly quickly by fans

Levy was a divisive figure and had become the focal point for protests and unrest which was being regularly reported across the mainstream media.
Keeping him on was tarnishing the 'brand'
That's the underlying reason for his dismissal in my view.
I'm pleased Levy has gone, but I'm sceptical of the Lewis cartel and their motivation going forward.
An outright sale is still the dream for me.

If ENIC go then Spurs definitely get something new.

If ENIC stay; we may get more of the same.

The thing about ENIC staying is that if the plan is more of the same; any good will towards them will disappear overnight.

The result against Villa, along with recent home form, show there is no longer an appetite for tolerating the methods used under Levy. The vast majority of people have had enough.

I think the consensus should be to give them two windows to begin the process of putting things right.

Joe Lewis was partnered to Levy and let him get on with it.

That has now changed.

Change is good.

2 of those, Betancur and Tel, have signed new contracts in the past 4 months.

Betancur's deal is rumoured to be a 3 year extenaion which will take him through 28-29.

Dragusin is under contract through 29-30, and Tel through 30-31.

We're not going to be able to move them unless they want to go. And they're unlikely to want a move.

Richarlison we'll probably be able to move on. But Johnson will likely be here next season.

From this squad, next summer we'll have to replace Muani, Palhinha, Davies, Bissouma, and probably Richarlison. That's 5 players, and at every level, we need to bring in before you get to forcing out Johnson, Dragusin, etc. So we don't have to force them out to significantly improve the squad.

Information alert - clubs can sell players when they no longer want them for their first team rather than put up with mediocrity until their contracts run out. We are probably the worst club in the PL at selling players. The inability to shift players like Ndombele, Gil and Reguillon was poor and cost us.

Information alert - in order to transfer a player, the selling club, the buying club, and the player all have to agree on terms.

You can't just sell a player because you want to. They have to agree.

And sometimes you need to lower your value to offload players. This is the biggest single area where we can improve now Levy has gone. As he was always involved in negotiations we struggled to sell players.
