ENIC In or ENIC Out

I have no issue whatsoever with posters giving ENIC a chance, nor them putting a timeframe on it. I was taking the piss out of the arrogant self-important way it was expressed. That's my bad, I shouldn't have come in here expecting anything else, nor to escape criticism myself for mocking it, that was my mistake, for which once again I apologise. I just forgot what this thread is like - that's on me.

To be clear (and in an attempt to find some common ground if possible) - I do respect anyone who stops giving the club money in order to try to make a difference, and I do respect anyone who uses social media to air their grievances with how the club is being run, as long as they do it in a balanced and mature way (which precious few seem capable of). :)
I doubt he actually meant if the owners don't shape up this transfer window and get the players in, he's literally going to take them down single-handedly. Most likely he meant he'll join the chorus of disgruntlement.

There's nothing arrogant or self important about that, he just didn't feel the need to explain himself because it's quite obvious what he meant.

It's clear as daylight that they have absolutely zero fucking interest in doing what is required for us to be competitive.

JUST FUCKING SELL. There are interested parties. Best and final offers in by X and get rid so we can all move in the summer.

The silence around the club is deafening.

No rumours of any potential takeover. Amanda Staveley no longer involved or seen at the club. No rumours of any third party investment we've been reportedly seeking. No urgency to secure naming rights.

It's almost like ENIC used a historic, well supported football club to build a multi purpose events arena in one of the most desirable cities in Europe ......and now the boxing, NFL, concerts and other events are ringing the tills the football club itself can get to fuck.

We've served our purpose. Bumbling along and making up the numbers in the richest league in world football is good enough from now on.. That's all they need. That's why they hired Thomas Frank

  • All this talk about an ongoing youth project that found its biggest expression in the summer of 2024 where we didn't sign anybody over 19 except Bournemouth's one year wonder in Solanke
  • The appointment of the current CEO that oversaw a similar youth project in Woolwich ; think of how many of their current players were under 25 when they signed those guys, although very few of them were complete punts
  • Identification of Frank this summer as a prime target, when someone with arguably better managerial background in Nuno was considered the last resort a few years ago
All point in the same direction: That the goal is to become a rich man's Brighton or a poor man's Woolwich depending on how you look at it.

Until I see any evidence to the contrary, and I really doubt it will happen anytime soon, that will be my assessment of their current modus operandi.

Doesn’t seem anything has changed and all the takeover talk as seems to have gone

Steverley and anyone she is fronting cant bid for 6 months from all that noise at the start of September. So we could well hear something from February onwards if they have been preparing to come back in.

Takeover rules state that the company cannot now make an offer for the club within the next six months.

U'm boycotting them too. I'll make a call on membership for next season in the summer. If we pick up second half or appoint Poch or someone in the summer then I'll stay a member.

Brentwood home was my last game. Actually played very well in that one tbf. The club has let down lifelong fans terribly, and aren't showing nearly enough to recognise and rectify that

Thanks for the balanced and friendly explanation, it's appreciated. 👍

Gooners will win the league this year and probably CL in a year or two.
Meanwhile, we continue to tread water in the league and stay in it.
We also aim to win a couple more home games during the next two years.
Yeah the difference in owners is frightening. 2nd is seen as not good enough by Woolwich and they push on with quality signings.
Where as we only have finished that high once under our owners who are content with top half of the table.
The gap between us and Woolwich is huge. Surely no one is left wanting owners where we are miles behind our rivals!
Yeah Woolwich will win a lot over the next few years. Even this season, them just winning the title is probably the best we can hope for!
