Our intention was to sign him.

Cannot believe people are defending this shit with a straight face
Don't think anyone is defending it.
If we can bring in a Mamoush type player that instantly becomes our best player then yes... but I'm not losing my shit that we didnt sign Gomes or Lookman. Neither improve our squad. If that's all we can genuinely get then I dont want it. Do they want to be brave, push the boat out and buy world class quality... or do they think a couple of next level down players will placate us. Much like Gallagher. These types of players do not improve our squad.

THST were again pontificating on a podcast yesterday, in my opinion they continue to ask the wrong questions and they continue to show zero financial understanding, but setting that aside it was mentioned again how much we owe other clubs in transfer fees, something pointed out in the summer when we were told that cash flow as an issue.

So having looked as if the last accounts we were owed £58m but owe £337m.

So have a net player debt of £279m. In a sell to buy situation, as we are now, you can spot that there is a real problem here.

So back to the THST, and their stupidity of wanting a £10 reduction on a ticket, why are they not screaming at the board as to why we have been put into stadium debt and football debt despite our revenue.

We have sold our best players and are in huge debt. Not a good one ☝️

I think most clubs have player debt to that tune; the issue is that we've not generated any significant or meaningful player sales for some time now, and a big part of that is the - quite frankly - absurd way we refuse to use squad depth to include academy players, and insist on (attempting to) playing our best 11 in 55 games a season.
IMO, Teams like City and Chelsea aren't brimming with amazing youth talent, because it's quite rare one of their lot appears at the top level. They do, however, give them a run out and charge Championship-level teams £20m a pop for them.

Which is what we should be trying to do, used to do, and are having critical issues by refusing to do.

What is the net player debt of our peers like BHA, Brentford and Sunderland? That sounds high but perhaps it’s manageable and standard for mid table lower rans

The table is so tight, ManU made the manager switch, and with the new manager bounce, put 3 wins together and they are in the top 5 conversation.

Our loser owners argue that there are no options available. Chelsea found Rosenior, ManU found Carrick, West Ham got Nuno.

Wise people back in the day taught us that when we honestly work to achieve something and put the effort, it will happen. If we want to be lazy, or actually don't want to do it, we make excuses.

SELL THE CLUB YOU LOSERS!!!!!!!!!

Would you like any of those options? It was a disaster when Conte left.

And that ladies and gentlemen is part of the ENIC curse

On your knees & somehow you’re picked back up to receive the next round of pummelling
