Risk to reward is Enic's philosophy. Hence our position.
A position that reflects a mid to lower table club, even though we are the 9th wealthiest club in The World.

We are going nowhere under Enic's guidance.

Dembele seen the bigger picture and knew when to use the ball (as well as being probably the most gifted dribbler we'll ever see).

Kudus does not, and that's his problem. He never knows when to play the ball, over carries, stupid take ons, and such. I don't see him having the discipline for that to ever come to fruition. The amount of counters that went to him and he slows everything down to stand up his man, let's the opposition reset, and 90% of the time, deal with it, and the promising quick counter wastes to nothing.
I think he will be better with someone to actually pass the ball ahead of him and can actually hold onto it in Solanke.

Their silence on the manager is the most incredible I have ever known, for any club of same or comparative size.

Absolutely stricken with uncertainty over what to.do, incompetence or both.

Or selling, as I believe will happen
What do you expect them to say about the Manager? Give him a vote of confidence because that is known as the kiss of death and they can hardly say his time is ending if he loses a particular match. The messages coming out are that they are wanting to get away from the frequent sackings under Levy but there will be a point at which they will lose patience and sack him. We quite rightly just do not know when that is. In the meantime we should all want us to pick up points to get safety.

But UEFA money is huge, plus sponsorship deals are more lucrative for better teams.

Spurs are a much less valuable operation in mid-table, that's just the way the system works.

There just is no remotely comparable precedent to a club at the financial scale of Spurs going down in 2026, it would be flying into completely unknown territory.
The closest that we have is Leicester. And even then the financial differences between the clubs are staggering.

You think saying nothing is good? I mean really.

Yes - well, it's the only sensible thing to do, and the only thing any club ever does. Look, we pretty much all want him gone asap, but it's ludicrous to expect the club to come out every Monday morning and say "we still have confidence in the manager" or similar words. He's in the job until he isn't, and there's no need or reason whatsoever for the club to reiterate that on a regular basis.

The onus is on them to jusitfy why he's still here, they said they sacked a manager who won the EL (rightly so), because our league form wasn't good enough (it wasn't). They made a song and dance about wanting to challenge, how he was the best candidate of 30, their foolproof 10 point list to make sure Frank was the right guy.

We find ourselves in a very real relegation battle, the fist in nearly 30 years and no luxury of sacking the league off to focus on a very winnable European trophy. So we're going to be much worse off next season with an all but guanteed lack of european football and possibly in a lower division.

They NEED to come out every week to tell us why there directly contradicting every action and promise from the summer. Every single bad result is one step away from disaster. Hiding is a giant fuck you to the fans.

No, they don't NEED to do anything of the sort. You appear to NEED them to do that - that's a you thing, your need, not theirs. No club comes out in support of their struggling manager on a weekly basis, and it's incredibly childish that anyone thinks a club would or should.

Don't get me wrong, they have failed to deliver on their promises, Frank was an awful appointment, and they should sack him obviously, asap - but that's all a completely different point - no club reaffirms their support for the manager on a regular basis.

They are the custodians of the club. They will come and go, fans do not, they serve the fans, or at least, they're meant to. They absolutely owe us an explanation as to why they're contradicting every they said they wanted to achieve. All we've got all year is a single copy paste message to the fans in a matchday program. All stuff we've heard to death for the last decade.

Sir Brexit Jim came out nearly every game, or every other game in support of Amorim, explained why they hadn't sacked him (they really shouldn't have, he's about as bad as Frank). Most clubs aren't in absolute free fall, with fans the most disillusioned they've ever been. This isn't a normal situation we find ourselves in. It's their mess, they did this, and we're absolutely owed an explanation as to why they've let it get this far with seemingly no interest of attempting to correct it.

Those ghouls are not actually standing by Frank or believing in him. No one should buy this BS.

They are saving themselves the $$$$ they have to pay if they sack him. No one in their sane mind see the results of the last 3 months and think "Yup! we are sticking by this guy, he is coming huge for us" while staring at relegation.

That mentality will NEVER win anything.

Well,Yes.

Superb post.

Silence is an absolute disgrace, only made worse by allowing it to continue without taking action.

You still seem to be confusing your needs with the board's needs. Be clear - ENIC doesn't give two shits about you, except when it believes it is in its interests from a business perspective. (Whether you think it should care about you or not is irrelevant). And you need to free yourself of this 'only custodians' nonsense - it may be a nice romantic ideal, but it has no bearing whatsoever on what happens in reality. (Again, whether you think it should or not isn't relevant - ENIC has no real legal or contractual obligations to you, and those are what drives its actions, not romantic ideals. You may think they 'owe' you something, but unless they agree with you, that opinion is irrelevant, it drives nothing).

Like it or not, ENIC will always do whatever it thinks will best serve its business interests, and I very much doubt that involves a weekly copy>paste press release reiterating its support for the manager, which would actually do nothing other than antagonise the fans even more.

The original post I was replying to said "Do you think (the board) saying nothing is good?" - I was merely pointing out that they presumably don't think that it would serve their own interests to do anything different right now. Anyone who thinks the board would be likely do something not in their own interests but purely in that of the fans must have a much more positive opinion of ENIC than I would expect. 🤷‍♂️

it was remarked at the time that Frank was a strange appointment for Spurs. Finally, back in the Champions League; and first major trophy in decades. Poor league form demonstrated that consistency was a problem.

What should have been an opportunity to push forward has seen Spurs go backwards.

Why pick a coach, and a backroom staff who have never won a trophy. Never finished top half of prem and never managed a team in Europe?

We moved from 3 serial winners (Mourinho, Conte, Ange) to appointing a coach without any track record whatsoever; and worse of all; one that played a very different system - one that stank of survival rather than dominance. Spurs repeated the Nuno mistake.

Desperate to discover the magic in a bottle they had with Poch? Or simply turned down by every elite coach, and forced to pick from the bargain bin?

What had Poch won when he joined us? He also was Manager of a smaller PL club. I think they were trying to replicate that formula.

Yep, I tend the agree with that. Poch came with a reputation of being able to settle unruly dressing rooms and flush out troublemakers. I suspect Frank made it to the top of the list for his track record in developing young players and keeping a steady ship.

And I think their whole plan is to limp along until they can bring poch back.

Certain the thinking from ENIC is that will shut them up for a while and whilst they are in the nostalgia phase let’s hike up the prices and do next to nothing in the summer market

Poch would be mad to come back as ENIC will have no transfer strategy in place to support a poch squad

Lol at you. Still defending them. Even now. After all these years.

Have you no shame? 🥵
How the fuck am I defending them? Have you actually read the rest of what I've written? Have you read where I've said they don't give two shits about the fans and are only ever going to make decisions that they believe best serve their own (business) interests? Can you actually read or do you just assume and type? :/

I do not get this clamour to bring back Poch.
1 He never won anything with our best team in years
2 He was awful at the end and deserved the sack
3 His news conferences frequently talked about leaving
4 He will not be available until late in the transfer window and will miss part of pre season.
5 There is no guarantee he will leave the USA especially if they do well
We need someone new early in the summer to plan transfers & be there for all of the pre season.
