It won't look that way in retrospect, especially if we do go down. In the question of how such a shocking, seemingly impossible thing could have happened, his personal fingerprints are all over every important signpost, plus having finished 17th in his "final" season (Levy was in fact Chairman during *this* season and past the end of the transfer window, let's not rewrite history here).
Both on the nitty-gritty decision level and the grand narrative level (best facilities in the world without a team worthy of filling them) where we are is where Daniel Levy left us.
To what extent the Lewis heirs can write a different post-Levy story remains very much to be seen.
And this is where what is happening is so annoying. This club has unbelievable potential both financially and in terms of winning on the pitch. It makes so much money. It really isn’t as hard to make a success of it as they are doing so.
They aren’t hiring the right people. It starts there. They obviously didn’t understand how much Levy did. He spread himself too thin. They have never wanted to spend the money on the right areas of the club and to make it best in class in every area they could. They’ve skimped and saved. Penny wise, pound foolish time and again and Levy was the chief architect.
It’s why we need a sale. I guarantee if we got the right owners we’d cause the rest of the league to shit their pants. With the right drive and desire they’d be no stopping us. But they can’t employ the wrong people time and again. If Vinai and Lange aren’t gone at the end of the season we are cooked completely. Because it means their judgement is wrong. Mind you, just look at who they’ve put on the board, it’s a load of bizarre random appointments. If they stay we are in trouble.
But Levy had the final say when he was there , so he would have intervened before it got too bad . They don't have to answer to him so can do what they like now - and they have done with disastrous outcomes . He might have been a control freak , and all of the people he brought in were practically yes men and were hand picked for their ability to say yes very quickly . But when you take the kingpin out of a roof don't be surprised when the roof collapses .
I hate Levy for holding the club back after the CL finals onwards , but he's not at fault for not buying players in January when we had 12 players on the physios table - "3 of them long term injuries" - That in itself tells you that you need 3 players . We were in CL at the time so there was money coming in to do it . They thought they were being clever putting Venketeshan and Lange in front of the cameras saying "We're not going to panic and we're going to stay the course because the course is right" . How f%ckin arrogant can you get . This is our club they're playing with like it's just a toy .

We’ve been running the worst recruitment in the league for about 10 years now. You don’t get to do that and not get punished for it.
Almost every premier league club now has alignment between recruitment, analytics, data, manager etc. Even Bournemouth have a DOF and manager completely aligned with what they want to be and what they’re trying to build. We’ve been operating shitty mid 2000s recruitment under Paratici where agents are throwing names at him and he’s just signing whoever is available and hoping a manager could throw the shit they’ve been given at the wall and it will stick. That’s not even getting started on Lange, who was lazily hired on the virtue of being available since he wasn’t good enough for where Aston Villa are.
The result is that the rest of the league is made up of teams with identities, there are no Steve Bruce’s, mark hughes, pardews to farm points off, we have a mishmash Frankensteins monster squad of young punts and a bunch of players where no effort has been put into wondering if this side can play with eachother under a certain style.

I have taken dogs abuse for being outspoken on how shit we have been over the last 5 to 6 years..how levy and enic are parasites...
Even i never thought we could get relegated, but believe me we will.....
I actually feel sick saying that, I'm not sure we as a club ever come back from this , I'm not sure I can ever truly care like I should anymore. It's been slowly beaten out of me.
I used to love football, but now it's soul destroying and leaves me feeling empty and weirdly not that angry anymore...because it's just the norm now....
Fuck levy and enic ...parasites the both of them for what they have done to our once magnificent club.
Nows not the time for who was right or wrong, it really doesn't matter anymore, nobody gets any joy from being right or wrong....we all loose, it almost feels like a death in the family......

We are most definitely going down, by far the worst team in the league.
Other teams around us pick up occasional wins, we don't pick up anything.
This will fuck Enic up financially which I'm glad.
Only downside is, playing football in a lower league with youngsters and championship players next year.
Its needs an uplift fast and knowhow to win a Premier league game to get at least a foothold. We havent won a premier league game this year ffs.

I’ve much happier memories from being a bit shit at WHL, but thinking there might be a better tomorrow, now what ? Tomorrow just brings more disappointment and more negativity.
