So our shit show of owners can't even get this right. So De Zerbi never asked for this and the club misled fan groups?!? They never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity

That guy is a bit of a twat if you ask me. Always blaming fans for everything and throwing his toys out the pram if things at the club aren’t done how he wants. Won’t find many more negative people and that includes us on here!

Ah... Does that mean I can stop ripping up newspapers now?
My hands are black!!!

At least the club have kept up the circus to the VERY END!!!

I think whatever the result tomorrow, the West Stand atrium needs to be awash with irate fans on Full Time...
Don't let the fuckers out the front, block the exits, blockade the car park... fuck them to the hills!

Even WHEN we stay up!!

When I suggested that Tim Sherwood should be running the academy's prodigies I got shot down in flames by some idiot , the prick moaned that Sherwood was a self serving parasite and had no place in our club . I think Sherwood would do a great job of mentoring the youngsters that are showing the right attitude and promise . There are so many that don't make it , and most can't make the giant leap from academy to first team level , but for the special talents that are coming through - we need an ambassador like Sherwood at their side telling them if they keep their nose clean and concentrate on their football - that there's a path to first team football . There are some good young kids coming through ATM - Williams Barnett is a great young player who's destined for a tremendous career in football .
Sherwood is a twat and shouldn’t be anywhere near our club.

However, and this is a drum I’ve been beating for a long time now, we should be paying a fortune to whoever is in charge of our academy. Not Sherwood, but the very best manager we can get our hands on. Not telling me we can’t find a quality manager who’ll take a step back from the front line for £10m a year.

They’re preparing their excuses early for the summer TW
This article smacks of deflection. Lets give Sky a few hot takes so we can say "we're really trying hard and we hope you'll be patient" but they really mean is "we're really trying hard and we hope you'll be patient whilst we continue to enrich ourselves and our shareholders at your expense" UTTER CUNTS, all of them.

I imagine if you compared the salaries we pay to those teams with coveted players pay, it's probably not that far off.

For example, the £200k we were paying Ndombele is the same as liverpool's top earner in Salah at that time. Lloris was on more than Allison. Wijnaldum the same as Bergwijn etc

The main factor is the choice of the managers and the scouts
Tosh and you know it. We paid one player 200k but our rivals are paying 8-10 players 200k plus. I could probably name 100 players earning more than our top earner and thats a fucking disgrace.

Well done for missing the point.

At the time, Liverpool won the CL final and only spent £10m on players. Their top earners were comparative to ours.

If you want a model of why paying both clubs and players huge amounts is not a strategy for success, you need look no further than Man Utd.

We are the ninth richest club in the world apparently. I’d assume this season is going to see us drop a bit.

But even as the ninth biggest club, we should pay players that match that. Granted, we presently don’t, but even if we did, there’d be at least 100 players getting paid more from the other teams richer than us.

What about how this club has operated since Levy was sacked makes you think he was forced out because we didn't pay high enough salaries to players?
The Lewis clan have released information about being more competitive about players salaries. Anyway I didn't say it was the reason he was sacked, I said that I guess it's a reason. Not just the salaries but spending a lot on crappy transfers and the team is shit. It's pretty much what the protests were about (players vs revenue) and the recent information about the club in a Sky Sports article states because of the protests the Lewises took a closer look at how the club was being run.

I suppose people can argue the article is nothing but a PR exercise but that's what is stated within it.

And then they sold Johnson while all our other RW options were injured (and its not like Kulusevski and Kudus are elite to begin with), and bought...Conor Gallagher.

ENIC are the problem. They don't have enough money to run a club with the ambition of Spurs. Until they sell (which I don't expect any time soon) nothing will change. They don't have the liquid capital to compete in this era, even if they wanted to.

In terms of ownership group net worth, we're already bottom half, within the next couple ownership changes we'll be in the bottom quarter of the league. As no one is serious about FFP/PSR, having poorer ownership than the competition is a massive handicap.

This stupidity is exactly what is wrong with the club, but the owners love fans like you.

Erm Pep, Goons, Liverpool, Roman Chelsea. Seems youre wrong.

Literally pointed out that Liverpool spent £10m after the CL final. Even City have a particularly low "net spend"

Now look at Leicester, Crystal Palace. They have both won FA Cups and, in Leicester's case, the league.
There's more clubs who have spent a fortune and won absolutely nothing than there are the opposite.

Whilst having more money definitely helps. The most important part is always how you use it.
