I think that’s where I’m at too but you know a couple of wins puts us right in the mix again for European football. Nobody above us apart from Liverpool are playing overly well. All dropping points when we don’t expect it. Beating Rangers pretty much gets us through and the Man Utd game is massive for us and the club as a whole.
European football will (or won't) take care of itself over the course of the full 38 games... And if Ange can't even finish 7th then he's toast in the summer regardless.
You know what else puts us right in the mix for European football though? .......Winning a cup (and right now; we're a 'one-off games' team; not a 'string of results' team).

In my stupid opinion it is surely easier to win the Europa league than get top 5.
But we don’t have a system to facilitate winning a cup. When we get to the latter stages instead of seeing out a 1 goal lead ( like Roma game) we will still go all out attacy because it’s “who we are” and we will lose.
I am particularly fearful of playing “NewCo” tomorrow because hard work will beat talent when talent won’t work hard.

It's a really poor PL in many respects and much as I have no qualms whatsoever if Posrecogkou is relieved of his duties, 3 wins and it suddenly looks very different.
Do I think 3 wins are incoming? Yes, but not to us.

I see the Free Hit delusion is spreading to the podcasters too.

Go look at the final pages of the Chelsea match thread and see what kulusevski is doing, rather not doing. He's ball watching for the 3rd goal Enzo scored.
He's supposed to be the 3rd midfielder. He scored a goal but caused us so many problems because of the imbalance in midfield.
I don't think there is any point in trying to fit him in. Maddison, Son and Werner pick themselves tomorrow. If Moore was fit I'd play him instead of Werner.
Gray should be playing in both games.
No point starting Bissouma.
Bissouma is the type of player that needs to be punished to learn a lesson.
If Ange had balls he should have taken Bissouma off instantly after that crazy tackle for Gray.
Bissouma doesn't deserve to play for letting the team down like that.
He can sit out rangers and Southampton.
We need to get a grip of this ill discipline that ends up costing us. We shoot ourselves in the foot so many times, especially against Chelsea. They go out thinking it's a war instead of playing with clear heads, making rational decisions and just playing them off the park.
Battle of the bridge under poch is a classic example of imploding under pressure when we could have just played our football. Last season another example, this season was third time lucky.
