Match Europa League - Ferencváros vs Tottenham. 5:45, Thursday 3rd October

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I've a feeling Ange will keep Son home for this, even if he IS fit...

Save him for Sunday, 100%

Werner in Europe has a ring to it... I think he'll thrive personally... and if he doesn't, better to find out on Thursday, than Sunday again!

My starting FWIW IX is:
Vicario
Porro
Romero
Gray (CB)
Davies (LB)

Bissouma
Sarr
Bergwall

Moore/Werner
Werner/Moore (interchangeable)
Solanke/Lankshear

Bergvall hasn't earned a place in the starting eleven, has he? If it's on merit there's no way he deserves a start. He was the same for Sweden the other day, wreckless headless chicken. If it's on bedding in then I guess that's fury muff. He really needs to calm down lol. Of course he has the talent which is the frustrating part. Anyway, that's why I'd start Bentancur over him. The manager may see it differently though I guess

You might be right about Son, such a shame that Odobert is out... and Richarlison

Blimey, you are confident! I know Ferencvaros are probably postmen and pub landlords, but only fielding 9 is a bold strategy!

Porro is fresher than Udogie after not playing last Thursday. I'd assume he starts-along with either Davies or Gray at LB. I'd assume its Gray, as I believe he played some LB at Leeds as well. Davies is clearly our 4th choice CB, and VDV should be nowhere near the pitch Thursday.
Bergvall, Bissouma, Sarr is the easy pick in the midfield.
Options up front are very limited. I still think Solanke starts, but we'll be looking to get him out early. 60 mins is more than enough and give Will the rest.
I think we don't see Sonny again, for me there's no need to risk it. He's been overworked early in the year as well, and resting him again certainly makes sense.
I think Werner starts on the left again (as we may see Sonny Sunday) and on the right???? Or do we me move Werner right and start Mikey on the left?

Time will tell, but it is clear that our young fellas will get some time this game.

I think we'll rotate more than we did against Quarabag...

Following up yesterday's win with another one at Brighton is PARAMOUNT, and I think Ange will go full strength in that one...

So Thursday is about squad management...

I think he'll stick with Vicario, but with Dragusin suspended, Spence ineligible, and VDV still catching his breath from Sunday, it wouldn't surprise me if he went with Romero & Gray at CB, with Davies at LB and Porro keeping his place at RB

Bissouma should probably come in, maybe alongside Sarr in the middle...

Kulu, Moore (or Werner if you must) and Bergwall would be a nice variation behind Solanke (or Lankshear?) up front...

Let's see... I've a feeling this could be a game to mix it up a bit.

Vicario
Porro
Romero

Gray
Davies
Sarr
Bissouma
Kulu
Bergwall
Moore/Werner
Solanke
/Lankshear

started Sunday*
The academy seriously needs to start churning out some fullback prospects, if we had anyone that had shown a modicum of potential they would be in with a shout of getting serious minutes right now.

I think the team is going to be a balancing act between risk of injury and putting out a strong team.

Ferencevaros has the same uefa coefficient points as Qarabag, and have won all their first 6 Hungarian league matches but lost to Anderlecht 2-1 away in their first EL match, which means that we would be unwise to be too much weaker than the team we put out against Qarabag

Vicario, Gray, Dragusin, van de Ven, Davies, Bissouma (Bentancur 71), Sarr, Bergvall (Udogie 12), Johnson (Kulusevski 46), Solanke (Moore 85), Son (c) (Werner 71). Substitutes (not used): Forster, Austin, Pedro Porro, Maddison, Lankshear.

With Dragusin out and a need to protect Van de Venn's hamstrings, our back 2 will need to be Romero and Gray, RB Porro, and probably Davies at LB.

Midfield is not a real issue - perhaps Bissouma, Bergvall and Sarr.

Attack is, I can see Johnson/Kulusevski each playing a half at RW, Solanke starting but Lankshear coming on after 60 mins, with Werner starting as LW, possibly Son on for 30 mins to add to our goal threat. Moore might be a sub somewhere too

It takes circa 5+ years to produce players from the Academy which is still affected by bad youth management under the Poch and Conte eras (Mourhino surprisingly ok).

So our next RB (Black - sub in end of season Newcastle match) and next LB (M King) from the academy are both a year or so away from being first team subs and more if they get to be first team regulars

Qualified for the Europa League, six games in the Hungarian league, six wins, home game...

Again and again: have respect for them, knowing what jersey the Tottenham Hotspur players are wearing, what league they play in and work hard for an away win!

It will work!

Spence was excellent vs Utd. I think Porro may well start and Djed to start vs Brighton.

Yeah agree - should have loaned him and kept Devine who looks more mature and looks after the ball better
