Match Everton - Spurs - Feb 3rd - 12:30pm KO

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yeah it’s still a point & we are well on course for CL which is our ultimate goal.

Of course but when you’re three minutes away from winning the match, you should win.

The late goals conceded away at Wolves and Everton have cost us 5 points, for it to happen more than once in a season is really worrying. We need to be much more cynical when we are closing out games. We ended this game still trying to do intricate passes in our third when we should have been hoofing the ball towards the corner and running out the clock.

the Positive is we looked a lot more solid when Sarr come on, hopefully that’s the last game HJojberg starts for spurs, don’t get me wrong he wasn’t the worst player but he loves a hospital pass and just isn’t cut out for this team.
what worries me is the left wing, Johnson and Kulu both way off the pace, I understand it’s a transition season but we haven’t looked good for ages, hopefully with Sarr back now and Bissouma and sonny due soon we can regroup and finish the season strong!
still plenty to be excited for and games like today I hope the squad learns what it takes to see out a game and win any way possible!

Also it’s random when they choose to pause it. Sometimes it’s just as they are about to pass it, sometimes just as they make contact with the ball & then other times just as the ball is leaving their foot. Depends on the frame they go with too. A not very exact science.
Depends on which team they're checking with both for and against........

It's just a fucking racket that we could do without.

Everton at home are a bloody good team though to be fair. Drew with Villa a few weeks back. Destroyed Newcastle. Smashed Chelsea.

What's frustrating is the late equaliser. It most definitely feels like two points dropped.

Plenty of games left this season and I'm confident we'll get top four. But it's frustrating to concede it so late.
They have 12 points from 12 matches at home. What are you on?

Well for those few who still thought we were still in the title race, that should have put that to bed?!

Before this game, we were never going to win 3 games more than Liverpool and 2,5 games more than City in 16 games!

That's 4 games against Liverpool, and 3,5 against City in 15 games now!

Sadly we are still to soft in defence! Against physical teams, we can't really find any weapons! Think we really need a towering, demanding CB!

And i'm not at all confident in our defensive midfield! Bissouma, Höjbjerg, Skipp, are not as good as we need! And i don't think Benta is a DM.

I would be really surprised if we don't try to improve the DM position in the summer!

And it's a must that we address the corner "situation" yesterday!

We were lucky to be 2-1 up at half time, didn't get much better in the second half, so we didn't deserve 3 points today! But to concede in injury-time is always a gutter-punch!

And by the way, our second eleven are STILL not even close to good enough!

Positives today, Richys form, and Van de Ven!

Rant over!

As a team, we never look like we are going to keep a clean sheet, most teams we play will get numerous chances against us. If we are serious about challenging the big boys next season, we really need to tighten up defensively as a team. It’s all very well wanting to play open, attacking football but we leave ourselves wide open. How many times did VDV get us out of trouble today. We can’t keep relying on him having to put in so much work, he’ll end up doing his hamstring again
I do think that with Udogie being 21 and Porro being 24 (VDV is also, what, 22?) this defensive line will only get better with time. It's the first season they're all playing together.

Added to that, the better our CM becomes, the less exposed that back line will be. Will Hojbjerg out and someone like Bergvall in help with that? Perhaps.
