Good evening all from sunny Tamworth. Or not
Just wanted to say hi and let you know a bit about what to expect for the lucky few who get tickets.
Away end will be AROUND 800 tickets. It used to be 880 I think, but Huddersfield and Scunthorpe in recent years have had 750ish. Of that, a block of seating at the end of the main stand, and around 60% of behind the goal in under cover. People may slate our ground but bigger clubs than us stick you out uncovered. The rest of the ground is the shed (home of the vociferous home fans) an uncovered castle end (maybe this can get us the money to stick a roof on) and the main seated stand.
It's about 10-15 minutes walk to the train station and roughly that if a little closer into town. Obviously I don't know how the police are going to look at this, but if you CAN get into town I'd thoroughly recommend it- it's a very good town for pubs . The Tamworth tap has won British pub of the year 2 years on the trot, there's around 20 others in and around the town centre.
Anybody who's about for the weekend, there's a snow dome, a theme park (maybe closed this time of year, a castle, several nature parks, an enormous shopping area, a relative cheap taxi Into Birmingham or 15 minutes on the train for a night out).
Were absolutely delighted to be hosting you. Despite those desperate to visit your place, there's no chance as it's not allowed anymore. Even if we tried "safety reasons" then we can host a full house against other teams so can against you. Whilst it's be a great day, it's also great to be having you here.
Were a very hard working team, though there's gulfs in class and there's gulfs in class. Were on a shoestring for the conference, but we've got 2 promotions in a row through absolute graft and running through walls for a phenomenal manager. I'm sure you've seen the long throws, not just by Tonks, but I would imagine you'll try to not give away and of them and pass it away from the back. The keepers brilliant, best we've ever had, centre Half's are big head it kick it players, and Creaneys a workhorse upfront with a good goal in him, with a talented Tshikuna behind him.
Two links of players I can think of... Ian moores rip was in our greatest victory of the fa vase in the late 90s, and your youngest scorer Andy Turner was here late 90s ( I thought he was terrible but he managed somehow to get a move to league football,)
Its a monumental day to get you at the Lamb. Enjoy yourselves, and if you need to know anything ask away.
