I think he did better than most would have. Don't mind him coming back.
The main problem is that he'll always operate under the Levy glass ceiling.
And there almost always an angle to every transfer- selling team at financial risk (Johnson, Richarlison), player with some court hearing or accusations suppressing the fee (Bissouma, Aurier), sell on value (so many children signed), club getting literally bombed (Solomon), club getting relegated (Maddison), player from small club so accepts lowish wages (Solanke), some sell-on clause shenanigans to exploit (Porro). Or player is just cheap and mediocre (most of the rest).

Not sure he was around when we signed players in the 2023 Summer TW.
But when you consider the current global instability the chances of decent bomb salvage are pretty good....
He can identify a decent player but whether we get the top targets we /he want is another thing and something we probably wont ever know about.
