Aren't Milan a bit of a mess right now though ?

Definitely lost their way a bit, but I don't think that's all on Moncada, he's not the DOF, he's just head of recruitment I think. They've made some erratic head coach calls last couple of years and have lost their way. Lost some decent players too, the spine of that title team is well gone, but a look through his recruitment, certainly pre the last couple of years, it was pretty damn good, at good budget too. I also think he was instrumental in building Monaco's championship winning team.

He's built a really good, young team at PSG that play much better football than the Galactico team. Also brought in Enrique, who's the best coach they've had.

He's miles better than Parartici who ruined a previously dominant Juve (stabbed his boss in the back for his job and to throw all their budget at Ronaldo) and brought some right dross here, more to help his old team out than us it seems. A couple of his were OK, but some disasters.

There's some other bods out there that interest me like Geoffrey Moncada - head of Scouting at Milan the last few years being one. He put together a good young team that won Serie A.

I wouldn’t ditch Lange full stop but definitely think we could use another football person between him and Levy. Munn seems completely pointless.

Campos clearly knows how to ID talent and build teams, maybe we could persuade him to come by offering a seat on the board?

you know things are tits up when you believe the current DOF needs another DOF for things to work.

Thing is, the lowest risk players are the established ones that have reliable performance levels. Generally speaking because nothing is guaranteed and even then the odd one can go wrong (waving at you Man UTD).

The lowest risk players all demand wages that we don’t want to pay so we need to take bigger risks on transfers. We don’t need a DOF, we need a professional gambler, which is exactly what Brighton was built by and is exactly the model that gives Levy his only hardons these days.

Lange is an accountant who does his investment by dollar cost averaging. Give him more time and eventually the portfolio will look healthy but nobody in this fan base has years of patience left.

I really don’t rate Paratici. He signs individuals, doesn’t build teams. He would have been great in the mid 2000s when a lot of coaching was just cobbling a group together but nowadays you need long term vision and a coaching strategy, which Paratici hasn’t got. We need someone like Campos who has an actual vision.

Isn't the coaching on the manager/coach?

Our current one isn't up to the task.

You do realise the quality coming through and the development of our u18’s and u21’s is partially down to Paratici’s reshaping of the structure setup and bringing in coaches in the likes of Simon Davies.

Best teams today have a great sync between DOF - Coach. Fab doesn’t do that, he has a scattergun list of players and a scattergun list of coaches (as we’ve seen from Fonseca - Nuno). Outside of Madrid, the best clubs today have that in place.
Liverpool didn’t. Michael Edwards and his successor both left because Klopp had too much power. Klopp leaves and Michael Edwards is back.
Barca are all, over the place. Fabio can get good players from Italy, doubt Lange is anywhere near.

He gets shite players?
I would argue the individual quality of signings has been very mixed, definitely not as good as some would have you believe when you look at them as a whole.

Regardless the bigger problem I was pointing out was how he has a scattergun approach to players, and we’ve seen that in our teams over the last 4 years. Just players with random qualities being brought in, there’s never been a sign of an actual “team” coming together under him.

That's on the coach.
