Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I was thinking this earlier, nice to see I'm not alone.

If the PL has to tighten its belt for the foreseeable, surely the knock on effect is that prices come down?

It will be interesting to see how much. It could possibly see us then being able to shop from the top shelf. We're already at the point where we're shelling out £40-50M for players that fit the right profile, but aren't in the 'elite' bracket. If Europe is broke, and the top PL clubs are skirting around Profit & Sustainability, no one will be able to afford the eye watering transfer fees we've seen in recent years.

Then who's sitting at the top of the pile where FFP is concerned?

Us.

We could possibly be seeing the start of a quantum shift in the EPL, and we seem to be in the best position to take advantage of it.
On the prices coming down point, I fear it won’t happen sadly: the only thing that will make prices come down is if they start to struggle to sell out. Logically the main thing that’ll cause that if there’s a deterioration of the quality of the league overall and/or state of the economy being such that people literally cannot afford to attend (arguably at that latter stage already)

If that’s the case the other established clubs won’t like it and the rules will change. Nobody will let us be top dog. That’s not how it works unfortunately.

A ten point deduction will probably relegate Forest and leave it open for (at least one of) the promoted teams to escape.
Poor Nuno just can't catch a break can he.

Its supply and demand though, take away the demand and Clubs with Money aren't going to pay Stupid money if they dont have to - Take the Gallagher situation , the Chavs want up to £50 million this window, we must be one of the few clubs that can afford that but Levy is not Stupid as we have the upper hand and if he really is for sale I reckon we get it done for about £35 million , where as had plenty of other clubs been flash with cash then they would have got closer to £50 million.

Obviously nothing as yet proven against City and untIl then they are entitled to the presumption of innocence and that is correct. With that in mind i thought for our FA Cup tie we should show solidarity and point out nothing is yet proven

How about this on the night as a song of support for our beleaguered treble winners

116 charges on the City board
116 charges on the City board
And if one of these charges
Turns out to be fraud
There’d be 115 charges on the City board

115 charges on the City board
115 charges on the City board
And if one

I hope you can see where I’m going with this as I can’t be arsed to type out 116 verses

The above is clearly only my opinion before City put an army of lawyers on my case lol

Newcastle fans crying wolf about FFP is hilarious. What did they honestly expect after yo-yoing between the Premier League and The Championship, not playing in any European competition for a decade, and then spending £300m without any real sales bringing funds in?

This whole "FFP is there to keep the rich richer and top teams at the top" is bollocks. The likes of Spurs and Liverpool have gone about it correctly. Selling players for top value and spending what they can, within their means. Remove that and we'll end up with clubs in even worse positions trying to spend to keep up.

It sounds like Spurs might be one of the few clubs who may benefit from the announcement due on Monday? Apparently Woolwich Villa, Man City, United, Chelsea and a host of others could be caught in this. The effect is

- possible point deductions this year for those who breached in 2022/2023 season

- clubs who have overspent this season having to sell club trained players to balance the books before 30 June into what will be a buyers market with only Liverpool and Spurs having FFP breathing space.

Maybe the THFC approach of building the stadium, go kart tracks, cinemas, etc. to create higher annual income for the club was not so short sighted after all?

Here’s a good vid on it. Its long but well worth the time.

Woolwich, City, United, Villa, Chelsea, Everton and Forest is about half the Premier League membership, and it is the Premier League that makes the rules (and can change them).

They are not going to allow administrators that work for them to kill their clubs, they will just beat up the weak and poor.

Everton and Forest plus any other club such as Wolves , who are admittedly only rumoured to be at risk should be able to take legal action one would assume against the PL . I would imagine something along the lines of malicious prosecution would apply

They just want their trillionaire owners to be able to spend what they like. That is it really.

It’s hilarious isn’t it. They were ecstatic to get them richest owners on the planet and now they can’t spend all the money. They did however raise £57m last year with a share issue (like ENIC’s £150m one that’s not been fully spent) so could do that again.

Might be wrong but I think there is a limit on how much an Owner can fund the club via share issue in FFP.

Football regulator will be in place soon. Unless the new Labour government cancel it. Might keep a lid on this financial stuff.
We need some regulation. If there was none the Middle East would take over .
