Dier is meant to roam in from of the back 4 clearing up. He can't do that wit Mason as his ball retention is not as good. He finds himself being exposed. Mason is not going to go past people with the ball, or have the strength to draw a few players in and still keep it.
We then pass it about in front of their banks and nothing happens. Son and Lamela come narrow, nobody is moving behind the back 4 other than Kane, and the occasional jaunt form Walker.
