Also, what’s the connection between Levy and the software company called Autonomy? HP bought them ten years ago and took an 8BN write off because the board cooked the books and inflated fake revenue. The CFO did five years for fraud and I seem to remember Levy was involved in the firm years ago

Another criminal acquaintance banged up by the US courts. I might see if I can contact a jounranilist about this and try and create a story. Dodgy little bald cunt

Edit: Daniel Philip Levy of 67 Fountain House, Park Street, London, W1K 6HG was a board director until 1999. Ok that was 12 years before the sale but I bet the little fuck still had stock and benefited from this fraudulent activity.

The CEO and founder, Mike Lynch, ,was recently cleared of al charges in a US Court only a week ago, surprised you are not aware of this.

It is impossible to overstate the significance of British tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch's acquittal by a San Francisco jury.

Dr Lynch, the founder and former chief executive of Autonomy, was cleared on Thursday night of all criminal charges that he fraudulently inflated the FTSE-100 software company's revenues prior to its $11bn takeover in 2011 by Hewlett-Packard.

ENIC were an early investor in Autonomy in the 90's (pre its investments in football when it also had a sizeable stake in Warner Bros and other businesses ) - I think originally owning some 20% - but had sold down much of its stake by early 2000's and used a lot of its profits to buy into Spurs.

No idea on the value of this sponsorship, but hopefully one of a few new sponsorships on the horizon to keep cash flowing in to the club and help to travelling supporters.

The Spurs deal will see the creation of an ‘Away Fans Travel Fund’ with the club to support subsidised shared travel at select away matches for both the men’s and women’s teams

Not sure I'm a big fan of betting forms advertising - maybe as a tease that Toney is joining !

Other sources estimate this sponsorship worth £10m pa, more than Getir were paying I think

I saw the CEO weaseled out of it which made me think about Levy’s involvement - the CFO did 5 years

Probably the root problem was HP being determined to move quickly from being a majorly hardware supplier to being a software company - and bought Autonomy as a fast way, but seemed to have skipped through a lot of due diligence along the way.

When I was involved in the acquisition of a major ISP/software company almost 20 years ago, I found that the revenues had a lot of hardware supplied, mainly as an integral part of system/software solutions to 3rd parties (but sometimes separately) , and it appeared that HP was surprised after acquiring Autonomy to find a similar thing........ but if it had done a better job at DD it would have known that.

HP's case seems to have been about lack of (or misleading) disclosure in Autonomy's accounts, but it should have known hardware was often 'bundled up' with software in system sales and tbh, its impossible to break down a sale value between hardware and software. I suspect the FD was convicted because the jury were hoodwinked by the prosecution lawyers to think the hardware and software could have and should have been separated out in revenues, whereas in the real world that is a pipedream..

I don't think HP bought a bad company but it bought Autonomy at something like a 70% premium to its share price, and the share price was where it was because Autonomy had grown very strongly so SP anticipated more growth. And HP should have known that.

So HP probably paid ten times what it might have wanted to pay if they had done DD and acted rationally - but the option for HP was buy or not buy. Their choice to buy. Not a fraud imo, just a total misunderstanding of how business works

So this is how we become an oil club.

Is it just the actual shirts that betting firms will be banned from?? Training kits unaffected?

Nice idea... Though something that the club/game could have afforded a lot sooner.

Forget Air Jordan, the real marketing collab dream would be a Spurs / Castrol GTX bomber jacket

Doesn't mesh well with the whole eco-club vibe; but the pretro-club thing has always more been about despotic/oppressive/nation/state ownership (and suspected illegal-'doping') that went hand in hand with the likes of Chavs/PSG/City.

The marketing department at Spurs saw some fans saying they wanted Spurs to compete with Mancity so decided we would compete - but in getting oil sponsorships !

:D :wall:

Totally agree

But if I had been an investor in HP I might have questioned whether HP's CFO had been negligent in not reading DD etc and at the very least fired - if not prosecuted for being paid big bucks to do the job but failing to do the bare minimum which helped lose HP billions.
I think they were also fired. I worked there for two years and it was one of a few awful acquisitions that tanked the company

OS confirming my posts from a couple of weeks ago.

I wonder if that gets me an 'ITK' badge on SC ?
