Would like to see the above but sadly Johnson and Son are almost certain to start... only issue is mobility through the midfield. Maddison needs to be higher up the pitch rather than dropping deep to cover.

Son yes, Johnson (if Deki IS fit) not so sure...
The other obvious switch is Maddison out and Deki deeper...
But that's only if you think Ange will accommodate Son AND Johnson up alongside Solanke .. aw, I dunno .. what's it matter whoever plays... I just want whoever plays to GIVE A SHIT!!

I’d rather lose this than a semi final. That’s a worse feeling.
Nah, not having that... Go as far in a competition as possible... ESPECIALLY as it's the only one we're left in!!
Plus, you get to the SF, there's always the chance of another Ajax away... THAT'S a feeling I'd not swap for the world...
Had we gone out to City, we'd NEVER have had that opportunity to experience that night as a fan base.

Otherwise what was the point in starting the competition anyway?

Thought Eagles were meant to be a far right thing?

Dunno what you mean....?

Mind you, Crystal Palace are all a bit 'Faux Ultra' ...and that's as far right as you can get!

I'm wondering how psychologically prepared people are for this.
If and when we're knocked out, are fans going to be gutted or just numb?

I don't see a 1/4 final as close enough to be upset. I also feel like losing is now so familiar that I could wake up on Friday and need to double check the score.
Would be hard to be surprised if we go out, we've lost to far worse teams under Ange and our record away in Europe is pretty poor anyway. Will still be fairly disappointed because even trophy aside, it would have been a great opportunity to salvage a shocking season, put us back in UCL, more attractive to new players and potentially give us bigger budget (on paper), qualify our strong U18 squad to the UEFA Youth League.

I've got a feeling the players will raise their game for this.

You see its an interesting comment, not because it comes with anything of any real substance, but it's either some psychic gut feeling ot more likely the rule of statistical averages.

Many will either aay or feel the same thing, but much of it will just be hope, because such comments only really have a basis when they are rare in the coming, but also backed-up by being shown to be right. Next to nobody ever comes on after and say fvuk that, my feeling was just flatulence.

There is no hope to fall back on in my opinion, other than even we might get some luck, and there must be a decent performance from this lot somewhere.

But if we do win, I think it will be a surprise. Whether that makes your feeling right, who knows and who would care.

Winning Thursday just gives us 3 more chances to lose.
