Not sure I understand what you're saying here, maybe weak in your terms is down to your interpretation of the word or whatever. Unless you mean weak by fielding a group of under 19s or something.
Anyway it aint that deep really, I expected that kind of performance because the team was changed around and it was a bit of a mish mash just like it was against Coventry, Gala were on form and were well up for it, it was one of those matches we could afford to take some liberties because of the advantage we gave ourselves from the first 3 matches...pointless having a squad and depth if you're not going to play them in these sort of games.
I don't think Fielding a team with with 9 full internationals is weak.. Lets say 8 because Bergvall is a young lad. They wasn't shit players we put on the pitch.
It ain't that deep, I get it. I'm happy we used the squad I just think the team was good enough to have performed better.
We have an issue away from home I think a good performance here was a opportunity to change that, I like what Ange is trying to do and want to build on it and push on, performances like that don't help us.
Like you said it hasn't cost us. But a good performance and even a draw gets you a reward that when you go Away to other tough places you have something to reference and gain confidence from that's all.

It's possible that if we win by a few tomorrow that we could have the best goal difference. That would be bizarre.
I arrived in Istanbul at 1 o'clock on Thursday morning. I complied with the clubs request to get the busses at 4.30, which actually left at 5.30.
It was a full two hours in total to get from the meet to getting through two ticket checks and two body searches at the six turnstiles for away fans.
To get to our seats we had to get passed a scowling Robo cop sat in the end seat who watched us maneuver past his riot shield without a hint of him helping.
There was no alcohol in the stadium except they were selling whisky for some reason, still their country, their rules. Perhaps we should try that in our country.
That night I did something that I had never done before, I left at half time.
Not just because it was the most inept, shameful performance, but because of the widely publicised 90 minutes hold back for visiting fans and the one hour journey back to town.
Given that they are three hours ahead this would mean that I would get back to the city centre around 1.30 in the morning , a task that I was just too tired to do.
The only positive I took from all of this was that I had seen Istanbul.
IT did however underline my theory that there is a weakness at the heart of this club that has been there for a generation.
No leaders, no warriors, no backbone.
I was six when I last saw my club win the league, I think I shall not see it again.

My son has witnessed us winning the Audi cup.
That’s it.
He was 3 when we last won a domestic trophy. He can’t remember that.
He can’t even really remember going to the stadium when he was 4 to have his photo taken with that cup either. Forgetful bastard.
Playing 2 teenagers = a mere "Kids team".... That's the rules.....

I decided to stick it out till the end. Waiting on the buses before the game was the worst part.
I will say however that the police escort operation to and from the ground was actually very well run. Managed to get to my hotel at 12.30am local time which was pretty good going.
I've just come back from Istanbul, will be running now to WHL for the game today.
Forever chasing this club around, this football team will be the death of me.
Caught up with the match thread here, I understand the free hit argument but not a single person in the away end was thinking that. We were kicking every ball and willing the team to get a result in a hostile environment. It was an experience for the players and coaches, especially the youngsters but also for us as fans. The atmosphere doesn't compare to England. I've been lucky enough to follow spurs around the country and not a single ground in England comes close to Galatasaray or other European grounds.
Still I think we held our own given we were massively outnumbered and sitting in the gods. Every time we sang the galatasaray fans responded with whistles, almost like an appreciation of our presence and support for the team.
The entire process of attending a European game is wildly different to anything back home, given the mayhem man utd fans had last season there I thought our fan experience was pretty good and could have been a hell of a lot worse.
Shame about the first half though, diabolical in terms of our ability to play and pass. Lots of players looking like deers in headlights. Bergvall, Porro and Dragusin had mares.
I knew the minute I saw our midfield how it would go. Maddison and bergvall is too lightweight. We have to play 2 of Bentancur, Bissouma and Sarr. That's what this team needs for balance.
Anyhow, another stadium and experience to tick off. İstanbul is a great city, outside of football lovely people and a fascinating culture.
Also good to see 1chriswaddle out there on another European trip.
