From what I can see - a last min Lazio home winner means they're the only team to be 4 from 4.

there are however 5 teams on 10 points.

the us and FCSB (Bucharest) on 9

that's the top 8.

So after tonight's result, which is made out to be the worst in the clubs recent history, we are 3 points off 1st and just a point off 2nd?

Wild that.

I'm meant tonight? You can criticise the manager and not want him sacked you know.
The poster said the Ange out brigade are out again tonight, so where are they tonight and what did they say?
Oh for sure - youre not Ange out and anyone who suggests so would be stupid.

But the guys above - that's who people are talking about when they say the "Ange out brigade" not just anyone who criticises the result or approach in any single game.

When I was a kid I used to be so reactionary to every single game no matter what the competition or team we had out but some of the shite thats spouted on here during matches is absurd.
'Play your first 11, kids have been shit, Bergvall needs a loan, Gray is not a right back, crap management' etc etc etc

Some points I think are vaild and help perspective.
The squad has to be managed and we have a ton of injuries and players with ridiculous mins under their belts.
This is an away game for which we would have had to fight for anything with our first choice 11.
We have won every game til now in the competition and bar a disaster we will be straight through in the top 8 anyway so what better time to manage minutes.
We just progressed in the league cup against City and hammered Villa in the last week.
Theres a mad fixture list incoming in the next 7 weeks which defines our season.

The not playing out from the back argument pisses me off as well - do people really think we are going to stop doing this in any game let alone this one for the sake of one result with the bigger picture being our style of play and ingraining it on ALL players in the squad for the future development of the team?
I am all for booting it long to protect a lead in the last ten mins or hitting Solanke the odd time during any game to mix it up or a proper clearance when under pressure but in possession where we should be comfortable on the ball and be able to control games? No way.

Defending a bit deeper and having two 6's is another conversation and I think we are a far better team with them but needs must and we can't sustain any more injuries.
We are in a good position in the competition and have a chance to improve our league position in a few days and go into a break on a good foot for a change with a great fixture at home.

Give the Manager, players and the rest of us on here a fucking break with the doom shite lads ffs.

Fucking hell, what a post.

Take a bow, son.

This is just an epic line -

Give the Manager, players and the rest of us on here a fucking break with the doom shite lads ffs.

We started today with a 40 year old goalkeeper. A teenage midfielder at left back. Our third and fourth choice centre backs. A teenager in central midfield and a teenager in attack. Ended up with 10 men and still only lost 3-2.

It's funny...... Most of the people refusing to consider this would have been the same ones with bleeding hearts over City’s woes last week.

Yeah but it was way bigger than that. Son Maddison Porro and Bergvall couldn't make a pass to save their lives. It was a complete clusterfuck on that level

I haven't watched the whole game properly but just looking at the numbers Maddison (24/27 in 65 min) managed to complete nearly three times the passes that Sarr (8 passes in 35min), Kulusevski (10 in 45) and Bergval (10).

I definitely think, based on the bits I have seen, that the biggest problem was that we completely lacked the base to our normal structure, combined with Grey thrown in as well. Dragusin and Davies just aren't comfortable playing high, pressing to win the ball higher or playing out and being part of the build up. Added to that, the midfield had Son, Lancashire and Johnson ahead of them - none of whom are good at showing, holding the ball up, or interplay.

I think the starting midfield was relatively OK, but what was behind and ahead of them had very little ability to help interplay or build up.

On the plus side Bissouma was outstanding; winning it under pressure, carrying it etc... Felt like August-Luton Bissouma of last year.

It was a bad performance no doubt. In fact the other EL games we weren't much better but we were playing inferior teams. Its understandable considering the amount of team charges we are making but let's not jazz it up as something its not

Why is it an 'epic line'?
What did you expect tonight and in general with this rebuild - because thats what it is?

Im on your side for sure!

Its epic because people need to hear it. People need to give the manager and players a fucking break - its enough already - just get behind the project and let the chips fall where they may.

I'm done with this need to outrage at every falter just because people cannot handle the ride of supporting a sports team.

I did not expect us to win tonight - we have played a shit load of games in recent weeks, have crocked a number of players and we were playing away in a massively hostile environment that would have been tough for any team, let alone the one we put out. But why the fuck not play the team we did and give these players that experience, they can only grow and learn from it. if we support them, show them that it's ok to lose a game, which in the scale of things, will have little effect on our ability to progress the comp, it will allow us to evolve as a squad.
