Ex-Spurs Player Gareth Bale

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

No no no. You just ain't getting it are you.
Too quick to slap down those you disagree without a moments thought, as always.
Yes, we need to pay our best players the fair and requisite amount in order to keep the squad together. Of course we do. Only a naive fool or an idiot would think otherwise. But to get to and maintain the financial streams and elite club status necessary, we need to elevate the club with stellar names and world class players. Players like Gareth Bale.
All the positive progress we have made has not been built on that strategy of buying up the ready made best of the best. What evidence exists of a club that isn't run by sugar daddy moving to that elite tier via the Galactico approach? I can't think of a single club of our stature that has tried it with success.

No I didn't.

I remember why I stopped coming here again. People don't know how to have an actual discussion.
Why cant we make a big transfer though?
a new, state of the art stadium that will be one of the biggest in England opening next year

We won't have the requisite funds available immediately to offer a 200mil package to a single player in January or next summer. Once we see the fruits of our labour we could. But not yet.

Of course I am. But the quetion in the the opening post was a simple one. Should Bale return to Spurs. My answer is Yes.

Unfortunately for you, your "yes" comes unravelled as guff once you attempted to quantify it.

Nice try but no turning back now, guv.

And you could add a few more to your list. Klinsmann, Greaves for starters

4 players in circa 60 years....

Like i already said... Get a grip.

They don't. They just talk the club down. Little Tottenham who can't compete with the big boys. Blah blah fucking blah.....
And then they expect us to give a detailed financial appraisment on the validity of transfer budget versus stadium costs versus incombe streams of the 9th wealthiest club in Europe. A club, that apparently, can't afford Gareth Bale.
Ridiculous

Portsmouth? Lol

Everton/WestHam 2017 edition? :dembelelol:

Ever thought what the reply would be if you ever broached this with one of those finance guys you mentioned?

The same as you get from the more considered poster here, you muppetS.

Bury your head in the sand all like; just know that you are spouting fanciful, denial ridden bollocks.

The cheerleader you have attracted pn this subject speaks volumes mate.
Have you spoken with them yourself?

signing one player who used to play for us is now the galactico approach? That's one of the funniest things I've read all day.

Genuine question: Why bother coming here then if it's not to your taste?

...No-ones forcing me to be here.

This IS a discussion.... Just one where your position is flawed (and in denial... see "I dont care, its not my money").

What do you want a polite round of applause and a virtual handshake after every post?
I don't want any applause but I'd like him to actually offer a constructive reply instead of saying "you answered your own question".

he's 28 and suffering from constant calf muscle problems. he aint getting any faster, and once the pace goes (usually happens fairly quickly when players have calf issues. thats where the lactic acid builds up when we have run too much. thats where the cramps start in 400m runners.), he isnt a good enough player..his game is built around being a power runner.

there is a reason why the asking price has been dropped. its because Real Madrid dont think he's worth it anymore. 19 different injuries in 5 seasons is probably the reason why

No, but I'm prepared to at least consider such factors which leaves me forever a step ahead of you and your ilk in this discussion.

Not sure why..... The amount of money we're talking about; it amounts to as much.

I like coming on here. I enjoy the discussion and the banter. I like to put my point of view across, even though some don't agree with it.
But like you, I occasionally get frustrated when people fail to put up a reasonable counter argument,or worse, belittle the stature of our club

No, that's not what I said. The comment I replied to said "stellar names" and "world players". Emphasis plural.

For the record, your post was the least funny I've read all day.

"B....B... but.... we cant let him go to United!"

I say let them sign the crock rather than bag a younger, fitter just as potentially potent player...

Hypothetical...

Bale to United or an alt. Galactico with less risk attach.

I know what I'd prefer.
