It's not 'all made up claptrap'.
Paratici saw Gattuso as a better choice than Fonseca. As Gattuso became available, the Fonseca talks were ended.

But now the fan backlash has meant that Gattuso is off the table, so we're back to square 1.
Your conspiracy theory involving lots of journalists making up the same lie is incredibly unlikely.
Fail Cosmo Kramer GIF

And this is how Tottenham's search for a new manager is going.

It's actually lots of 'rumour aggregators' all reporting varying embellishments of occasional vague sparks of truth.....

Pinch of salt. Afterall, the eventuality is what matters most.

Why do you just believe whatever you read on Twitter?

You are quoting Twitter rumours as facts.

Don't do that.

:levylol:

The journalists are not making up the same lie, how many times does it need to be said, one journalist comes up with an exclusive and the rest simply follow and repeat the same story without properly checking their own sources. It happens all the time.

Paratici saw Gattuso as a better choice than Fonseca? Fonseca ain't great but everyone can see Gattuso is even worse and that's before we talk about his controversial views and violence against Joe Jordan

Lets say for one moment that Paratici rates him, don't you think he would have called Levy and said "Hey Daniel, I want to drop all negotiations with Fonseca and go for Gattuso instead" Surely at that moment Levy would have said "absolutely no way can I hire Gattuso for Spurs because he previously head butted a member of our coaching staff and his reputation is dirt with our fanbase "

The Gattuso links made no sense and was a media story that spun out of control without any solid facts.

I’m aware this happens all the time.

That’s why I only trust a select few journalists with a strong track record.
If the BBC simply regurgitated all rumours, they’d be reporting 100 false stories a day.
The fact they corroborated it is significant.

The full quote from the Times:

Conversations certainly took place with Gattuso, and insiders at Spurs are starting to become exasperated that almost every detail of a recruitment process being led by the new general manager Fabio Paratici is becoming public.

No doubt some will claim it's all part of the big conspiracy of journalists making up links with Gattuso.

YOU GUYS RULE

I already had the Spurs as my (only) favourite English team, now more than ever!

COYS!

Please someone arrange a twinship with Fiorentina fans.

I'd be maybe a little more worried that everything is getting leaked. That either means incompetence somewhere, or a very clever mole!!

Or in reality, so much of this Sh!t is made up, and everyone else jumps on board.
Remember both Sky and BBC reporting on the Golf booking that we made up last year!!

There is no conspiracy, only plagarism.

Journalist A leads with a story, journalists B, C, D... all regurgitate it as quickly as possible so as to appear on the pulse and worthy of being followed.

No conspiracy, no collusion, no organisation - just frenzied hacks trying to remain relevant.

Just as, "Talks" can mean very much - or very little....
