I think what he was doing was well intentioned, it just didn’t come across very well in the moment. But he seems to be the only player showing a bit of leadership.

Yup Spain definitely won the WC because Casillas was their GK. Nothing to do with having Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Busquets or David Villa. It was all because they had Casillas as their captain in goal.
