Player Guglielmo Vicario

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If he wanna encourage, he could have put an arm around Bergvall's shoulder, no need to put his hand on the chin/cheeks like that. Looked so aggressive. You can tell Bergvall is not comfortable at all but couldn't stand up to him.

That’s how I saw it!

Too much unnecessary touching by Vicario who had a shit game and we could have conceded more despite ‘playing well’!

It’s a storm in a tea cup!

We say we want some spine and fight in the team and then highlight that non-issue with Berg as bullying?!

WTF?! Come on!

Berg looks like a spunky kid with plenty of fight in him so I very much doubt he’s thought about it in the depth that some of us have!

Vicario agreeing with the spunk theory clearly!

Imo he's a good goalkeeper and the least of our issues.
He's another problem right now and much of a much. Romero has loads of ability playing like a problem, Vicario undoubted ability playing like a problem, Maddison the same. Vicario is part of a systemic problem. It's coming from Levy's setting a tone that mediocrity is acceptable and Ange Postecoglou's total loss of authority. This is what happens when a hierarchy loses operational control of its personell. Get Ange gone and Levy away from the football entirely . Break up the so called leadership group, and buy in players that know what winning looks like. Not this odd Ange likes a narrative of struggle to get here like his own...err that might just mean they were never good enough in the first place.

With my "Goalkeepers Lib" badge firmly on, my appraisal of Vic is :
  • Great long/medium range shot stopper
  • Decent short range shot stopper
  • Not great with feet
  • Does not look confident commanding his own box
  • Communication with back 4... passable
Those with short memories might forget the multitude of saves hes made for us since hes been here, playing in a frankly suicidal system with an ever changing back 4, frequently having to play with 4 in front either out of position, extremely young, or literally forgotten men. This is not ideal for a goalkeeper.

He is the least of our problems. With a manager who actually gets us set up defensively well he wont feel like he HAS to come for everything and punch/flap at it - that will be liberating in itself. Its clear to me hes not a fella who likes the ball at feet (I can think of about 5 in world football who actually are, this whole sweeper keeper thing is snake oil IMO) but our "style" forces his to have to do it. Tell him to fucking hoof it if theres no obvious easy pass on and hes immediately happier.

The only thing I genuinely dont like is the weird attitude to Bergvall - two "incidents" now - maybe Vic's missus fancies a bit of blonde?

football what GIF by Arsenal

PSG in the semi final basically having a top class goalkeeper.

There's the problem with Glug. It's not about being "the least of our worries" it's about being excellent when needed. Not the odd flash save in a season of defeats.

I don't think Vic is going to get much better than what he's shown over the last two seasons. Lloris-lite and his leadership seems performative and misplaced. Lead by example, don't be a weird cunt.

He'll look better when our defence and coaching is sorted out. Replace Romero and have Archie drop into the backline when fullbacks bomb forward, a la Poch. Alternatively have one of the fullbacks drop into a 3atb.

Great shot stopping, bad command of his box, decent but not great on the ball, and both erratic and at times irritable. He’s not a veteran leader whatsoever and needs instead actual veteran leadership- be it from a coach or another senior player.
