He might not be good enough, but he's not the worse part of this team, and he's actually had some phenomenal performances this season. If we were at the top, then we would definitely need to upgrade but we're no way near it so he's rhe least of our (many) problems.

As for the mistake, it was a bad one, but he mishit a fucking ball. Christ, I've had a surgeon mistime a sodding cut, imagine how they might perform next time they're in theatre if they had 1000s of people booing them. The booing comes from a wider malaise, and that malaise is largely understandable however that doesn't mean it's productive because it's absolutely not. Booing a player is never going to help them or the team, it's just not. And at least he came on tv and said they had every right to boo - people expecting a greater apology here are missing the point, he could have talked about how much rhe booing hurt or how it didn't help but he took it on the chin. He didn't need to do that.
He didnt miss hit the ball as such. He played it down the line when it should be hacked into row z

This is pretty silly if I'm honest, how do you expect him to gain any confidence if you're booing him?

I think fans are entitled to show displeasure and I understand the frustration but singling out a player is wrong, if you want to boo then boo the whole team.

2 decent performances is absolute bollocks as well btw

The goal itself was largely his fault but why the fuck didn't anyone of our defenders get on the line, basic stuff.
I wouldn’t feel this way if he didn’t constantly call out every other player and turn on the fans the other week. Hes a 30 year old man, if you or I go into work moaning at everyone else’s mistakes and call out the boss for not doing his job…… you’d fully expect to be given the same treatment when you yourself screw up.

I also stand by him only having 2 decent performances. Monaco and Everton. Other than that hasn’t looked great at all

I’m with those saying don’t boo your own players, it actually doesn’t help in the long run.

The problem with Vic is that for every egregious error he makes he seems to shout at someone for it. Even yesterday - I’ve no idea who but he’s berating someone when the goal goes in, that’s not on. Take responsibility in the moment, not just after you get boo’d by the fans.

His conduct in the Leicester game with Bergvall last season really turned me off him as a personality. Breaking down a young naive kid with the sort of energy he would never give to Romero (who made plenty of errors in the opening few weeks) was not on.

Great shot-stopper generally, but poor on crosses, average at best with his feet and not a great character on the pitch.
Very much of similar mind...those who boo have every right to do so after forking out and giving up their leisure time to travel various distances in all kinds of weather only to sit watching the level of dross currently being served up.

I opt to save my boos for the opposition and incompetent officials....not because I consider myself above it but rather because I believe it has the opposite effect of geeing the player up.

Sure Vic has saved us with his shotstopping in the past and will no doubt continue to do so....that does not mean he is good enough for us to progress and certainly a position we must look to upgrade for the future.

I think it's fine to have these feeling towards him but he's a member of our team and needs to be supported when he's on the pitch - the work comparison doesn't work by the way, you don't perform at work in front of 60k people.

Poor decision making by Vic cost us one goal this match, enough to walk away without a point.

He shouldn’t have passed it to Romero in the PSG match - again another example of a bad decision.

Let's call it out for what it is.

This goalkeeper and a certain central defender, who has just been rewarded with a bumper deal, are in a 'leadership group' when they should probably both be investigated for match fixing.

This guy is a dingbat, but what the hell was our defence doing on that Wilson goal? Danso playing the offside line with our keeper on his arse at the corner flag. I play with several poor CB's who I'd somewhat trust to have prevented that goal.

This.

I think he was booed for his reaction to his mistake rather than the mistake itself. He is always quick to throw his arms violently and shout at others when he's fucked up spectacularly. All he had to do was put his hand up and signal he took responsibility. He did do that after the game, but too late by then. Frank is on thin ice calling the fans out for booing him.

Embarrassed to be a spurs ‘supporter’. I know is a struggle at home but supporters booing isn’t helping. Please can we all get together and make some serious noise in the next few home games regardless of how it’s going on the pitch.
